Sometimes an outdoor space doesn’t need a complete overhaul... it just needs the right updates in the right places. ✨

🌊For this pool patio project, the goal was to build off of what was already there and give the space a more finished, intentional look. We extended portions of the existing pool deck, removed concrete in select areas, and introduced full-color thermal bluestone to add more character, detail, and warmth around the pool.

There was also a lot of thought put into what you ~don’t~ see. Drainage, base preparation, reinforcement, and conduit for future electrical needs were all incorporated below the surface so the homeowners can continue adapting and enjoying the space for years to come.

It’s a good example of how a thoughtful extension and a few well-planned details can completely change the feel of an outdoor living space ➡️ adding function & details now while also planning for what may come next. ☀️🌴

Not every project starts with a homeowner wanting something prettier. Sometimes, something just needs to be fixed the right way.

This basement egress had become a real problem. Both retaining walls were failing, drainage wasn’t working properly, and water was getting into the basement and becoming a major concern. From what we found once we started digging, the original walls simply hadn’t been built with the proper foundation and drainage behind them.

So we took it all the way 🔙.

The existing walls were demolished, the area was excavated properly, and we rebuilt everything from the ground up ⬆️ including the compacted base, setting stone, drainage system, proper backfill, grading and geogrid reinforcement.

A lot of what makes a retaining wall last is the stuff you’ll never see once the project is finished. Proper drainage, base preparation and reinforcement might not make for the flashiest photos, but they’re often the difference between a wall that lasts and one that fails.

Finished project update 🌿🏡

We shared this garden fence project while it was in progress, and now we have the final photos to show how it all came together.

🌱This once-overgrown area is now a defined, usable garden space with a custom fence, new landscaping bed, and added screening from the neighboring property.

The planting bed softens the fence line and brings in a mix of texture, color, screening, and seasonal interest, while the garden fence gives the homeowners a more functional and protected space to use.

It’s a great example of how an underutilized part of a property can become something practical, polished, and built around the way the homeowners actually want to use their yard.

👉If you have an area that feels unfinished, overgrown, or like it could be used better, reach out to Marsh Creek Outdoor. We’d be happy to help bring a plan together.

🌳🐎 A unique dual project completed in Elverson, PA.

This job brought together two important pieces of property improvement: tree transplanting and screening, along with remediation work on a horseback riding ring.

For the landscape portion, we transplanted trees and added screening to help create more privacy, structure, and separation on the property.

For the riding ring, the existing grade was causing the sand to shift and collect heavily in one area, leaving other sections nearly bare. That kind of uneven footing can become a real safety and performance issue for both horses and riders.

We removed the excess sand, remediated portions of the base, and re-leveled the entire ring to create a more stable, consistent surface.

👉 Whether it’s tree work, grading, drainage, screening, or specialty property remediation, Marsh Creek Outdoor has the equipment and experience to handle projects that require more than a basic landscaping approach.

🌲 Big trees make a big difference.

Over the last few weeks, as spring has started turning into summer, we’ve been busy installing larger trees across different properties — from arborvitaes for privacy screening to shrubs evergreens, and deciduous trees that add shape, depth, color, and character to a yard.

🏡 Every property has a different goal. Some clients want to block a view and create more privacy. Some want their backyard to feel more finished. Others want their front entrance to have more presence and curb appeal. The right trees can completely change how a space feels.

At Marsh Creek Outdoor, we handle everything from planning and placement to sourcing, transporting, and installing trees of all sizes. Whether it’s a small ornamental tree or a large privacy screen, we have the equipment, experience, and eye for detail to get it done right.

This custom garden fence and planting project is underway 🌿

This project in Wynnewood, PA started as an overgrown, weedy section of the yard that didn’t have a clear use yet. The homeowners wanted to turn it into a defined garden space while also adding some screening from a neighboring house.🏡

We designed the fence and landscape planting plan together so the finished space would feel intentional, functional, and connected to the rest of the property.🪵

The garden fence includes a slip board style, custom gate, buried mesh for added garden protection, and extra height up to 7 feet to help keep deer out ❌🦌

Along the fence line, the planting plan includes a mix of screening and ornamental interest: with native shrubs, a native specimen tree, and repurposed shrubs transplanted from other parts of the yard 🌳🌼🍃

🧹This project was all about cleaning up an overgrown poolside landscape and making the space work better for the homeowners.

🌳The existing trees around the pool deck had grown too large for the area... encroaching on the concrete, hanging over the pool, and closing in the space. We removed the trees, cut out and removed the stumps, prepped the beds, and installed a custom screening planting plan that will provide privacy without becoming too much for the space.

✨Rather than installing a basic straight hedge, we designed the planting layout with a mix of shrubs and perennials for natural screening, seasonal interest, texture, and color throughout the year.

💧We also made drainage improvements around the pool deck and relocated some existing lighting so everything functioned properly once the new landscape was in place.

👍A good landscape plan should look great on day one ➡️ but it should also be built with the future in mind.

☀️Golden hour on a front entrance we’re proud of.

For this project in Malvern, PA, the goal was to make the new work feel like it had always belonged there. We added a second pillar to match the existing entrance, built the new wall section, and carefully balanced the mix of orange, brown, and gray tones so the stonework felt natural alongside the original 50+ year-old masonry.

✨Every detail mattered: from matching the mortar and raised pointed joints to creating custom caps that tied into the existing bluestone. The custom entrance gates were built to fit the space and finished with a top-of-the-line automated setup, including phone app control, keypad access, and emergency access capabilities.

🪴We also redid all of the entrance landscaping and beds with native, low-maintenance plantings chosen for color, screening, texture, and year-round curb appeal.

A front entrance like this one sets the tone for the whole property ➡️making it feel timeless, functional, and built to last.
