We use 20 penny galvanized Ring shank hand drive pole barn nails to fasten the building together and southern yellow pine lumber that is harder, and stronger than the typical white pine lumber. We put treated tongue in groove 2×6 splash boards around the bottom of the building to prevent separation of the boards whenever the fill gravel or concrete is applied. These buildings can be constructed on top of a concrete slab using post or stud framed walls leaving no wood having ground contact
