ICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Crazy, not sure if you remember, I was concerened about this, almost 1 week ago. Not kidding, had a bad feeling about it....

Looks like main preip will start between 1AM and 4AM tomorrow early AM and last 6 hours ( main stuff, 6 hours ) - So I expect most of the major stuff to be out of here by 7AM to 10AM.

All areas could start off as a quick burst of snow and sleet - Then sleet, but, most of this will be freezing rain, which is the absolute worst!

I am still holding on to hope, that some dry air tries to cut down ice amounts, but, I am not feeling confident on that. When it comes to this, I am also hoping sleet lasts longer than some of the data shows, which woudl help cut down big time on ice amounts...I would rather be a bit high to be safe, then to go low because of what I hope, and have people caught off guard!

Yellow - Mainly sleet and snow, with some freezing rain - Still wont be fun, but, do not see MAJOR ice issues here, although, roads will not be pleasant.

Red - .2" to .4" of ice- Yea, this is not too good here guys.. Not at all- Only blessing, at this moment, the winds should not be too bad. But, its not just the wind, it is the weight of all that ice that snaps power lines... No school looking very likely!

Purple - .3" to .45" with some spots possibly going over 1 half inch of ice. PRAYING this does not happen, but, there is truly an outside shot of this. Again, hoping sleet stays in the picutre longer than anitciapated here as well. I would be SHOCKED if any school is open in this area....

There you have it.. As always, I will keep an eye on this and look at radar trends and short term data later this evening. I will post an update between 11PM and midnight, before it starts!

I am more than blown away, many of us are not in a Ice Strom warning, I have said it for 2 days now. Advisory doesnt sound serious to me. I think MANY will get over .25" of ice, we should be in a warning.. Take this serious please...

Praying I report later that the dry air may win and reduce these big time, but, not hopeful. Have a great day and God Bless!

Just something to watch.

Just something to watch.

SnowFreaks!!! I mean, IceFreaks! All new data is in.... Yea, well, hmmmm, not looking great!

Below is what 80% of the data is showing. Time frame as of this moment would be from 1AM Wednesday AM through 1PM Wedensday afternoon. Of course, this may change, but it gives you a heads up.

Below is what you can expect for ICE amounts at this moment, will be updating twice a day. Lets hope this changes!

Yellow - up to .1" of ice - Lowest risk of serious ice damage.

Red - .1" to .25" of ice - This could casue some major issues in spots, depends on how much.

Purple - Looking like a solid .25"++ Some show as much as a half inch of ice, would be just unthinkable and awful. I am not buying into that yet, but, PLEASE be ready, as it looks like we may have a good ole fashion Ice Storm. I expect majority of schools in purple to be closed on Wedensday. Would not be surpriced to see either a Ice Strom Watch or Winter Storm watch issued by tomorrow afternoon at the latest in this area, IF nothing chnages drastcially.

I am always hoping I am right, and for the models not to change, for ONCE, I am hoping this all changes and I am 100% wrong!

Will try and update later tonight, for sure 2 updates tomorrow. Just keeping you updated.

Again, time frame of main event on this would be from 1AM to 1PM Wednesday..

At this moment, the system for Thursday evening, is warmer and warmer, and shoudl be all rain, MAY start off as some sleet or Freezing rain, but, my main focus is the one Wednesday AM at this time.

Have a great day and have fun! Enjoy this wonderful weather and God Bless!

Back into the deep freeze. All that slush that I didn't shovel because I thought it would melt is now an iceberg🙄. Well at least it's going to snow a lot to cover it all up this weekend. More on that when the forecasts are more in agreement on how much and where. Suffice to say...buckle up, friends. Replenish your winter supplies in your car/home and be ready for significant snow and bitter cold. 57 days till spring. :)

HEY! SNOW FREAKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here is what I am thinking. Thankfully, I will see my go to short term model I trust before snow starts later this evening. I feel pretty good on this forecast.

The ratios I think will be 16/17 to 1. So every 1 inch of water, we would see 16" or 17" of snow, compared to the normal 10" of snow. This is because it will be so cold... Ultimately, it will depend on the snow crystal size. But feel good about this for right now..

Light snow will move in late this evening through overnight, west to east - It should snow, lightly, with occasionally more moderate bursts through early afternoon tomorrow or to perhaps as late as Saturday evening...

When all set and done Saturday, here is what I am thinking:

Red - 5" to 6" - Euro is trying to show 7"++ here, not buying it yet!

Blue - 4" to 5" - Euro showing 6"+ in some areas here as well, but, I feel it is overdoing the ratios a tad!

Green - 3" to 4" - Some data showing some longer banding here - IF that happen. this could easily be 5" to 6" - Almost impossible to know

Yellow - 2" to 3" - Same as above, would I be shocked if someone picks up 4" NO, All depends on how long any 1 stronger ban persists.

Again, I will update once again later on tonight. This has been a tricky one.... Temps will be cold and it will be windy!

1 more thing - NE winds could produce snow squalls in the favorable areas off Lake Huron Saturday night through Monday morning - Could see some accumulations there after this storm, you know who you are.

Have a great day and God Bless!

In Colorado, but something to think about before you complain about the heat. Lol

Winter makes a comeback tomorrow.
03/01/2018

Winter makes a comeback tomorrow.

I have to get to bed ( and so do you ).. Otherwise, I would take a lot more time on this, but, trending colder for everyone. Still think many will start off with rain, starting overnight, but, some of the northern areas, may be starting as snow, or a very brief start as rain, then quickly to snow......

Looks like heaviest precip ( snow ) will range from between noon and 2PM to 8PM and 10PM... We could see 1" to 2"+ per hour snows in spots, and possible rumble of thunder.... IF indeed this happens, the totals below will be even higher!!!!

Red - 4" to 8" by midnight tomorrow
Blue - 2" to 4" by midnight tomorrow - Southern Blue will have rain to begin for more of it... That is why they are lower
No color - Not much

I am pretty confident we will at LEAST see a Winter Weather advisory, IF NOT a Warning for some areas when you wake up tomorrow!

I will be able to update this before noon, I will know what temps are like and radar returns current then...I am happy as I will be able to see this before brunt of snow happens...

But, I feel pretty good with these ranges, and will fine tune it all in the AM

Again After noon through late evening for prime time snow fall for most!

Good Night and God Bless!

Don't get too excited, but they say there is a chance.

Good Saturday, SnowFreaks!!!

Wow, most of the models are in pretty good agreement with this.... However, there are differences with the strength, ratios, and ultimately, snow amounts.....

Some as low as an inch or 2, in certain areas, to as much as 10" - YUP. Have to love the wide range, love the pressure on me...

As it stands right now. Light scattered snow shower will develop later and last overnight, not expecting much of anything, maybe an inch or 2 by 7AM, MAYBE! At this moment, I think the main aummulating snow will be from 7AM through 3PM - Now, we will still see some snow after, but, I think that will be the peak of it.

Here is a very colorful map, for all you map lovers.... Thank God, I will be able to peak on local and short term data when it comes in later tonight. This is a bit tricky for 2 reasons.. 1, Will there be banding where the snow is coming down heavy in certain spots? Will the temps be in the 20's or slight above freesing? I thing the southern areas in our areas will see temps climb above freezing, making the ratios very low, wouldnt even be shocked to see some mixiing....

Red - 4" to 7" of snow... I would lean towards the lower end of the range, however, even if temps are near 30, and its coming down hard enough, and persists, we could easily see 7" if not even more in spots! But, 4" to 7" I am confident in.

Blue- 3" to 6" - Again, guys, plan on the lower side, but, some data showing 5" to 6" all day....

Yellow - 1" to 3"

Green - Dusting to an inch, could 2" happen, sure, but, you get the idea, I think it will be a lot less snowfall here...

Will update later this evening if I can.

Recap - Peak of snow - will start between 6AM and 8AM and last through 3PM and 5PM Sunday!

Have a good day and God Bless
