Hey everyone, I wanted to take a minute to reintroduce myself, explain a recent change, and share a little more about who we are at FDC Construction Group.

My name is Justin Gustafson, owner of FDC Construction Group, formerly known as Facelift Design Co.

I’ve been in construction for over 15 years and have worked across residential, commercial, and government projects. My background also includes architecture/design, project management, estimating, and hands-on construction, which has shaped how I approach every project today.

When I originally started Facelift Design Co., the focus was primarily residential remodeling and giving dated homes a “facelift.” Over time, the company naturally grew beyond that. We began taking on larger renovations, commercial opportunities, design-build work, and government construction projects.

That growth is really what led to the rebrand.

FDC Construction Group better represents where the company is today and where we’re headed, while still keeping the FDC name that started with Facelift Design Co.

For our local residential clients, the mission really hasn’t changed. We still love taking dated, underused, or poorly laid-out spaces and turning them into something people are excited to come home to.

Some of the work we take on includes:

Kitchen remodels
Bathroom remodels
Whole-home renovations
Additions
Interior layout changes
Basement remodels
Design + build projects
Commercial construction and renovations
General contracting and project management

One thing that is important to us is that we self-perform portions of our work whenever possible. It gives us better control over craftsmanship, scheduling, and the little details that can make or break a finished project. For the trades we don’t self-perform, we work with qualified local subcontractors and manage the project from start to finish.

We’re based in the Detroit Lakes area and want to continue building strong relationships with homeowners, businesses, subcontractors, designers, realtors, property managers, and other local professionals.

If you’ve worked with Facelift Design Co. in the past, nothing about the ownership or commitment to the work has changed. We simply have a new name that better fits what the company has grown into.

And if we haven’t met yet, feel free to reach out. Whether you’re ready to remodel or you’re just trying to figure out what might be possible with your space, I’m always happy to have a conversation.

Problem: This Detroit Lakes kitchen felt closed off, dark and dated, with limited flow for everyday living. Solution: We opened the layout, added a large island, and updated the cabinetry, countertops, lighting and finishes for a brighter kitchen with better function—without adding square footage. Sometimes a facelift changes everything. 👀 📍Detroit Lakes, MN

Problem: a closed-off, dated kitchen that felt disconnected from the rest of the home. Solution: open up the space, improve the layout, and give the kitchen a complete facelift while keeping the warmth and character of the original oak cabinetry. The result is a brighter, more functional kitchen that feels connected to the home. 📍 Detroit Lakes, MN
