Crazy days. It's never a surprise that an installer sells a system with a defect and never verified all panels working and serial numbers are in the correct place. Serial numbers just wherever and not in the correct place l, broken panel installed on the roof never producing never verified as all panels working.

More Xcel energy scams. They already have a billing line item for electric cars. This is garbage. Make your complaint at puc.colorado.gov/participate. If you don't complain you're not going to get anything. Tell them 2026 integrated customer program filing is a NO! most of you haven't read our news letter and got this taken off. We been noticing alot of companies using cheap, single, use equipment in their installs. The flashings on these are reusable and can be reused saving the customer insurance money and over this is a really amazing foot. This is what we would recommend for feet and flashing. I know people are going to be like but we like cheaper time saving things. This has has been safe and no leaks in over 10 years.

Got Solar Panels? Got Hail Damage? Read This Before You Hire a Roofer!!

If your neighborhood has been hit by a hail storm, you might already be calling insurance companies for a new roof. BUT!! If you have solar, there is a VERY specific order of operations you need to follow to protect your investment and avoid voiding your warranties.

First of all, you cannot simply patch or replace a roof around active solar arrays. They must be removed and reinstalled.

DO NOT let a standard roofing crew just rip off your panels!
A solar professional shuts down the system, maps the panels, and safely removes the panels and racking.

Here is what you need to know:

*Call your solar provider first: Many solar warranties require a certified solar technician to handle the power-down and removal process.

*Get an inspection of the system: Hail can cause a drop in your system's efficiency or create safety hazards, even if the glass isn't shattered. Always get an inspection.

*Let the roof cure: Once the new roof is on, it typically needs to "cure" in the sun for about 2 weeks so the shingles seal completely before the heavy panels go back on. Only hire solar experts to return and reinstall the racking, replace any hail-destroyed panels, reconnect the system, and test it for performance.

Good news! If your roof replacement is caused by a storm event like hail, homeowners insurance typically covers the cost to remove, store, and reinstall your solar panels as part of the overall claim.
