Here’s a behind-the-scenes look from one of our jobs this week!

Our client had a difficult-to-mow, hard-to-grow, shady area in their backyard that never seemed to thrive. They wanted to transform it into something that looked intentional, matched the rest of the yard, and didn’t come with a huge price tag.

We completed some light grading, repurposed the existing river rock, and created a clean, low-maintenance space that blends seamlessly with the rest of the landscape.

Here’s a look at one of our latest landscaping projects from start to finish!

Our client originally planned to build a retaining wall to create a level fire pit area. Unfortunately, they injured their back during the DIY process and weren’t able to finish the project.

After meeting on-site, we determined that a natural boulder wall would be a better solution. It provided the support they needed while fitting the landscape beautifully and keeping the project within a reasonable budget.

The result was a functional, durable outdoor space that’s ready to be enjoyed for years to come.

Phase one of this project consisted of a beautiful 230-square-foot patio extension to expand the homeowners’ existing concrete slab, giving them more room to host friends and family, relax, and enjoy evenings around the Solo Stove.

We also planted three Weeping White Spruce trees to provide a natural privacy screen around the hot tub as they mature. To improve accessibility, we installed a stepping stone pathway that makes it easy to access the hot tub cover and connect the patio to the rest of the yard.

The patio and pathway are accented with 2–4 inch river rock, creating a clean, low-maintenance transition between the hardscape and surrounding landscape.

We’ll be back for future phases of this project, and we’re excited to continue transforming this outdoor space!

Here’s some progress photos from our current job out in Delano!

This patio will feature around 400 square feet of finished space and will eventually be surrounded by a beautiful river rock bed to make maintenance and mowing a breeze.

This project is going to involve a serious amount of cutting and detail work, but it’s going to give the homeowner the exact custom space and layout she was hoping for — and we’re excited to bring it to life.

Some progress pictures of the patio taking shape today featuring one of our new employees, Grant!

This project is going to feature a custom inlaid fire feature area, premium paver materials, and a layout designed specifically for this backyard and the way the homeowner wants to use the space.

We love creating outdoor spaces that feel unique to each customer instead of just installing the same patio every time.

A few photos as we clean up the job-site for the weekend!

We currently have this patio fully “based out,” meaning we excavated a minimum of 6 inches throughout the entire patio area, along with at least 6 inches beyond all edges to help ensure long-term stability and prevent settling.

We also installed a soil-separating fabric between the sandy clay soil and the compacted limestone base. This helps prevent the materials from blending together over time and adds extra protection against Minnesota’s freeze and thaw cycles.

This project will feature a grand 8-foot-wide staircase leading down onto the patio, along with a dedicated fire-circle area designed for relaxing, entertaining, morning coffee, or evening cocktails.

Here are some photos from our first patio project of the season from start to finish!

This project featured premium thermal bluestone with a Borgert cobble border for a timeless, high-end look. We also installed bell-bottomed pergola footings beneath the patio to create a solid foundation for the future structure before returning to complete the final patio installation.

Natural stone patios take extra time and precision, but the end result speaks for itself. We’re proud of how this one turned out and excited for all of the projects ahead this season.

A few photos from a drainage job we recently wrapped up in Rogers.

On this new build, the roof design required a downspout to land right in the middle of the future driveway. The homeowner was proactive and had us come in before the driveway was installed so we could take care of the drainage the right way.

We dug this line about 18 inches underground and ran PVC pipe for the full length of the system to ensure long-term durability under the driveway. The water now discharges through a popup emitter that will sit seamlessly with the final grade, helping disperse water into the soil while blending into the landscape.
