As we have evolved as a society we have realized that a jack of all trades usually looses his home to a fire. So we have learned to respect that and you should too.
When you don’t know exactly what you’re doing, you’re potentially installing a very slow, very secret countdown timer to a structural disaster behind your drywall. Let a pro handle it so your home remains a house, not a pile of sad, smoking ash that used to contain your TV.
We drive rolling toolboxes chucked with more tools than you own (probably) that are just waiting to be used to fix your electrical issues. Now, you could go to Home Depot and buy what you need to fix it right but at point you could’ve hired us… and you still might have done a really bad job.
When a pro leaves, they leave a warranty. When you finish a DIY job, your only warranty is a lingering sense of dread every time you hear a faint clicking sound in the walls.
Code books are written in the blood and tears of people who thought they could do it themselves. If you wing it you now have a chance to make yourself your very own code article in the next edition of the National Electrical Code.
Electricity is dangerous and unforgiving, don’t die.
Sure, you saved $150 by doing it yourself—until you accidentally fried your $2,000 smart refrigerator and knocked out power to your block (we’ve seen it). Now you have to pay the “please fix my shame” emergency rate to a laughing electrician and a very angry lineman.
Most electrical issues are not a simple problem that your smartphone can help you with. They require an understanding of how your electricity works, when your home was built/wired and a vast knowledge of what can be done to amend your issue. That’s all knowledge that can’t be learned online in 5 minutes. It takes years of constant evolving and successful repairs.
What may take you all day would take us an hour. Learn to value your time.
Unlike you who may be pressured to just get it working, we don’t hack things together at the expense of your safety. In fact, we will make sure it’s right and we will be happy to explain to you everything that we’re doing.
