A small cabinet transformation this week, new door, drawers and face frame. The customer asked if I could use corrugated metal on the doors to match the towel holder. After a fair bit of digging I was able to find some panels that worked perfectly in a shaker style door. The customer was happy and I thought they turned out really cool. I might have to make some more for my own bathroom.

Sometimes replacing a toilet is a simple task. Often when removing a toilet hidden problems emerge: improperly installed fl**ge or wax ring. These can lead to water damage in the sub-floor and in the case pictured the toilet fl**ge had completely rusted away. These things don’t happen over night, in this situation the toilet was installed in the late 90’s and had not been moved since. This can cause a small $250 toilet install to grow rapidly into replacing plumbing, sub-floors, and flooring. I often recommend customers keep extra flooring around when remodeling there homes for cases such as this.

If you have a toilet that rocks, smells or notice soft floors around it, its probably worth getting checked out before the problem gets any worse.
