KC DRIP Need water? Want to dig a well but not pay for a blind hole for thousands of dollars? Is the county wanting thousands to hook up to the main line?

We had these issues too. Good track record on hitting water at a low cost. Just trying to save people money!

🌎 THE HISTORY OF WATER WITCHING 💧

Long before modern well-location technology, people used simple tools—and a lot of experience—to search for what was hidden beneath their feet.

📜 1500s — Europe
Some of the earliest well-documented accounts of divining rods appear in Europe. At first, the practice was used largely to search for ore and minerals, not just water.

💧 1500s–1600s — Finding Water
The use of rods and branches gradually became associated with locating underground springs and water.

🇺🇸 1700s–1800s — North America
European settlers brought the tradition across the Atlantic. In rural America, farmers and well diggers began using forked branches and rods to help choose locations for wells.

🌾 1800s — “Water Witching”
The American term water witch became commonly associated with people who searched for underground water using rods, branches and other methods.

📖 1917 — The US Geological Survey
Water witching had become common enough that the U.S. Geological Survey published an entire paper titled “The Divining Rod: A History of Water Witching.” The USGS had been receiving so many questions from Americans about the practice that they investigated and documented its history.

🔨 Today — The Tradition Continues
More than 100 years later, water dowsing is still practiced throughout parts of North America. The tools may have changed—from forked branches to copper rods—but the tradition of searching for groundwater continues.

Keeping an old tradition alive, one property at a time.

Water witching/dowsing remains a subject of debate. The USGS does not consider it a scientifically reliable method for determining groundwater depth, quantity or quality—but there is no denying the fascinating history and tradition surrounding it.

Had a great opportunity this morning to help a customer who recently purchased a beautiful property just outside of Lawrence, Kansas.

After walking the property, I found a couple of promising locations for a new water well that should serve both the future home and livestock needs.

Thank you, Brian, for trusting KC Drip with your well location. Best of luck with the drilling—I can’t wait to hear how it turns out!

We were proud to sponsor the 18th hole at the Trailblazer Matmen Scramble yesterday! ⛳️💧

It’s always an easy “yes” when it comes to supporting our local kids and programs. The proceeds from the tournament help both the Gardner golf and wrestling teams, and we’re grateful to have been a small part of it.

A huge thank you to everyone who organized, participated, and supported such a great event. We love being able to give back to the communities that support KC Drip.

💧 Flashback Friday! 💧

I wanted to share a special find that’s a little more personal—this one is for my own family.

When I first started dowsing for water, I could locate water, but I didn’t always understand exactly what I was finding. This was one of my earliest discoveries. I kept locating water in this area, and it appeared to be flowing toward the south.

After talking with our well driller, he believed I had actually located a spring or a perched water table sitting on top of a limestone shelf about 20 feet below the surface.

Instead of letting it go to waste, we decided to capture that water and build a pond in front of our home. Today, the pond is about 10 feet deep. As you can see in the picture, our well driller installed a transfer pump that moves water from the pond into a cistern, with a solar-powered backup system. This gives us water for irrigation and other outdoor needs without putting unnecessary demand on our well.

It’s pretty amazing to look back and see where this journey started.

Pretty cool set up here for temporary situations. The well driller has made a semi temporary solar panel to power the well pump. The solar panel also rotates with the sun for optimum energy! The builder of the property needed water before his home was done and they came up with this! Pretty good idea!!!

💧 Another well found! 💧

This location was on a new build property where we identified several promising spots for water. After checking the property, one location stood out as our best pick.

The well driller hit water at approximately 72 feet and continued drilling to 140 feet. Early results are looking promising, with a good couple of gallons per minute coming from the well.

Every property is different, but it’s always rewarding to see a well come together from a location we selected.

Thanks for watching! If you’re planning a new well, want a second opinion before drilling, or just want to improve your odds of finding water, give KC DRIP a call.

First well ever located on our own property ! Huge weight off our shoulders when we hit water at 32 feet! At the time we were told we could hook to the main and 4 months later we were told we would have to pay for a new main (80k) that would have stopped our new home build all together!

KC Drip is just an idea my wife and I had one night. We had a bad experience building our home when we were told we could have gas and water hook ups and the half way though the build and more than half way though the money we were told we would have to pay for a larger main water line. I met a generous old man and studied well witching/divining, and was lucky enough to find water on my property first try.
15 holes later I have only missed one time and had one other hole not produce enough for the customers needs.
This isn’t a full time job but I feel like if I can help people who have had a similar situation or someone who doesn’t want a well company to drill a “blind” hole at a large cost save some money I am all about it!
Thanks for reading and feel free to call/text or message me for details and pricing.
