I use Cabinet Vision as my design software. In addition to floor plans and elevation views, it can also provide 3D renderings. These perspective drawings help a client visualize the layout better than plan and elevation drawings can. They can also represent finished that will be used.
The attached renderings are from a kitchen and bath design class I completed this spring at Fox Valley Technical College. Every year, students in the residential building construction program build a single family home in the Fox Valley. Students from my class were invited to submit a proposed kitchen design.

Last fall, my family asked me to create drawings for a proposed kitchen remodel at our cabin. The 3D perspectives helped them visualize the improved layout and increased storage potential. The plan and elevation views (not shown here) can be used for pricing purposes if we choose to move forward with the project.

Normally, I design with maple wood, and prefer a clear or light-toned finish. Our dining room need some custom storage, so for a change, I gave hickory a try. The sideboard and matching shelf fit nicely in this space and the hardware and top compliment the rustic look of hickory.
