🏡 Another Cabin Complete! 🎨

Another cabin is officially complete, and this one was definitely a challenge! This cabin was in much rougher shape than most, requiring quite a bit of extra preparation and attention to detail to bring it back to life.

And let’s talk about the carpenter bees! 🐝 There were carpenter bees like no other on this one! Between the condition of the wood and the amount of bee activity, proper preparation was especially important before we could get started.

We began by thoroughly pressure washing and cleaning the cabin, scraping loose and failing stain, sanding rough areas, making necessary repairs, filling and sealing problem areas, and caulking where needed. We also pressure washed the dirty roofs to bring them back to life and make them shine again, giving the entire cabin a much cleaner and refreshed appearance. ✨

Once everything was properly prepared, we applied the appropriate products to protect the surfaces and give this cabin a fresh, finished look.

This project included staining the siding, fascia, soffits, window and door frames, decks, and railings, along with painting the doors and garage doors. 🏠

🏡🎨 Cabin Exterior Painting Project — Completed! 🎨🏡

We recently had the opportunity to give this beautiful cabin a fresh new look with a complete exterior repaint.

As with every project, we began by pressure washing the exterior to remove dirt, buildup, and surface contaminants and to provide a clean surface to work with.

From there, we addressed the areas that needed attention before applying the finish paint. There was peeling and failing paint in several areas, which we carefully removed and then sanded smooth to create a uniform surface. Any exposed raw wood was properly primed and sealed before we moved on to the finish coating. Taking care of these areas first helps ensure the new paint has a properly prepared surface and provides the wood with the protection it needs.

We also paid close attention to the caulking around the cabin. Where caulking was needed, we made sure those areas were properly sealed. We also came across some older, uneven and choppy caulk that was affecting the overall appearance. Rather than simply painting over it, we removed the old caulk and replaced it with a clean, smooth bead for a much more finished look.

Once everything was properly cleaned, repaired, sanded, sealed, and ready for paint, we applied the finish coats to the siding, fascia, door and window trim, doors, and casing.

The result is a clean, refreshed exterior that brings new life to the cabin while giving the painted surfaces a fresh layer of protection.

🏡✨ From Faded to Fresh — What a Transformation! ✨🏡

A couple of weeks ago, we gave you a sneak peek of this home and shared what was coming. Now it’s time to show you the finished project! 🎨🔥

This home received a complete exterior refresh, including the siding, soffits, fascia, gutters, downspouts, window trim, doors, door trim, and even the propane tank. The new color was matched to the customer’s existing shed, creating a beautiful, cohesive look throughout the property.

But as always, the transformation started with the preparation. 💪

We pressure washed the entire home, caulked the necessary gaps around the doors, windows, and trim to help protect against water intrusion and insects, filled carpenter bee holes, and used our carpenter bee additive to help discourage carpenter bees while providing an additional layer of insect protection.

The difference is incredible! 🤩

What was once a faded and weathered exterior has been brought back to life with a fresh, clean, uniform appearance. The right colors and attention to detail don’t just refresh a home — they can completely change its character, bring out its architectural features, and give it a personality of its own.

⛪ Project Complete – First Baptist Church | Dandridge, Tennessee ⛪

We’re excited to finally share the completed results of our recent project at First Baptist Church in Dandridge, Tennessee.

It has been an honor to help preserve and maintain a building that has served as a place of worship, fellowship, and community for generations. While this project wasn’t about changing the church’s appearance, it was about protecting and preserving it so it continues to serve the community for years to come.

Every successful paint project begins with proper preparation, and that’s exactly where we started. The entire church was professionally pressure washed to remove years of dirt, grime, mildew, algae, oxidation, and other stains that naturally accumulate over time. Thorough cleaning is one of the most important steps in creating a long-lasting paint system and ensuring every repaired and painted surface performs as intended.

Once the building was clean, we carefully prepared every area that was to be painted. This included scraping all loose and failing paint, sanding rough edges, spot priming all exposed raw wood, and applying the proper metal primer to bare metal surfaces on the railings and doors before finish coats were applied.

Another important part of this project was sealing gaps and cracks throughout the painted areas. We carefully caulked joints and openings, paying close attention to areas where the window trim meets the brick. Properly sealing these gaps helps prevent water intrusion, improves the finished appearance, and provides another layer of protection against the elements.

In addition to the extensive preparation, we completed painting in the requested areas throughout the property, including:

🚧 📸 Photos Processing… Stay Tuned! 📸 🚧

Our photos from the church project we just wrapped up are currently being processed, and we can’t wait to share the finished results with everyone next week!

In the meantime, here’s a preview of our newest project. This week we’re giving another home the refresh and protection it deserves. Our scope of work includes painting the siding, soffits, fascia, gutters, downspouts, window trim, doors, door trim, and even the propane tank. The finished color will be matched to the customer’s existing shed for a beautiful, cohesive look.

⛪ Project Preview – First Baptist Church | Dandridge, Tennessee ⛪

We’re excited to share a preview of another project currently underway at First Baptist Church in Dandridge, Tennessee. Churches like this have long been a cornerstone of their communities, serving as places of worship, fellowship, and gathering for generations. It’s always a privilege to help care for buildings that mean so much to the people who call them home.

The largest part of this project is giving the entire exterior a thorough professional pressure washing. From a distance the building appears to be in great shape, but as with many structures exposed to the elements year after year, there are areas with mold, mildew, algae, and oxidation that have built up over time. Our goal is to safely remove those contaminants and restore a clean, fresh appearance while helping protect the exterior surfaces.

In addition to the extensive cleaning, we’re also completing painting in selected areas throughout the property where requested, including:

This week we had the pleasure of painting a beautiful new home addition finished with Hardie® Board siding, along with completing several touch-up areas to ensure everything blended together perfectly with the existing home.

⛪✨ THE TRANSFORMATION IS COMPLETE! ✨⛪

After weeks of careful craftsmanship, we’re proud to share the finished restoration of the historic Hopewell Presbyterian Church in downtown Dandridge!

Founded in 1785 and worshipping in its current sanctuary since 1872, Hopewell Presbyterian Church is one of East Tennessee’s oldest and most treasured landmarks. It has been an honor to help preserve such an important piece of our community’s history.

What began as windows and shutters with peeling paint, failing glazing, damaged glass, and years of weathering has now been completely restored.

Throughout this project, we carefully removed all loose and failing paint, replaced broken glass panes, removed deteriorated glazing compound, installed new glazing points where needed, properly primed all bare wood, applied new glazing, made necessary repairs, and finished everything with premium exterior coatings designed to protect these historic windows for years to come. The interior window surfaces were also re-stained to restore their natural beauty while maintaining the church’s historic character.

Historic restoration is about much more than making something look new. It’s about respecting the craftsmanship of those who built it, preserving its character, and ensuring it can continue serving future generations. Every step of this project was completed with that goal in mind.

We want to extend our sincere gratitude to the congregation of Hopewell Presbyterian Church for trusting Semo & Son Painting & Decorating with this restoration. It has truly been a privilege to be part of preserving another piece of Dandridge’s rich history.
