Women in HVACR

Women in HVACR Women in HVACR exists to improve the lives of our members by providing professional avenues to connect with other women growing their careers in the HVACR
(7)

In 2002 during the AHR Expo held in Chicago, IL Ruth King & Gwen Hoskins began a discussion about the increased number of women joining the HVACR industry and the need for a way to share knowledge and experirence through networking while encouraging and supporting one another. This conversation between two women was the catalyst for the organization. From this simple discussion a panel discussion was hosted by Comfortech entitled: Women in The Industry during the 2003 confernce held in Dallas, TX. in conjunction with the Contracting Business Woman of the Year breakfast. The panel consisted of 4 women within the HVACR industry and was attended by approx 40 people. From the interest generated during the panel discussion, by the end of the year Ruth King had applied for a 501C3 under the name Women in HVACR . As so it began.

Mission: Women in HVACR will be recognized as the premier organization for women in the HVACR industry, intent on providing multiple avenues for women to connect and grow, both professionally and personally.

ZOOM REPLAY
Today, “WHVACR Zoom” welcomed Katie McLinden of Schedule Engine to talk about Virtual Diagnostics & Sales for contractors. While nothing replaces putting a tech in a home, the times dictate that we have to rethink the way we do “all things” in a contracting business.

So, what is Virtual Diagnostics & Sales for the contractor? It includes virtually gathering info from the homeowner via Facetime, Skype, Zoom and other platforms to understand replacement needs, diagnose repairs, and even walk them through some simple fixes for those more common HVAC issues. More contractors are choosing this way of doing diagnostics and sales calls because people don’t want techs in the home unless absolutely necessary. And, contractors don’t want to risk safety and health to the techs. This is a way to avoid unnecessary or prolonged outside contact for both parties.

Learn more about this subject here on our Zoom Replay…Watch the full recording of this Zoom Meeting by visiting https://www.womeninhvacr.org/webapp/p/442/zoom-in

I'm having an awesome time at the conference. I'm learning so much and look forward to attending next year! #womeninhvacr #2020whvacrconference
We need a new furnace!! I'm not an HVAC contractor, I work for the ACHR NEWS, so I'm familiar with most brands. What systems do you install that you like the best and have the least maintenance issues. We live in Michigan if that helps with recommendations. Thanks in advance for your help. :)
Is anyone on here in commercial service?
Really enjoyed Giselle Mascarenhas's presentation this AM; thank you😁
Great call this morning, so fortunate to be able to join in with you all!
Does any have any free photos that they would share with me of women in HVAC that I can use for a social media campaign? The CNM School of Applied Technologies is trying to fill our first ever, Term One summer class, and I would love to have a photo of a female technician so our program feels welcoming to women who are considering HVAC as a career. Thanks in advance!
Does anybody else use their pocket thermometers as human thermometers? Just me? #uei #sendsoup #hvac #womeninhvacr
