What if we told you there’s a plant that can help keep a pond BLUE? 👀💧🌱 (Yes that’s a zipline)
We’re currently working on a three phase commercial development project, and right now we’re installing a native seed blend featuring Buffalo Grass, Blue Grama, and wildflowers as part of the site’s vegetation establishment and erosion control plan.
We continue to expand our knowledge of native grasses and species that are best suited for our Texas growing zone, because the right seed mix matters when it comes to successful vegetation establishment.
For the final phase of this project, the developer had a biologist specifically recommend a unique native seed mix to be installed around the perimeter of the pond. We have never installed this particular mix before, so we’re excited to see how it performs and what the finished results look like.
What plant species do you think is in this mix that helps maintain the blue appearance of the pond? 🌱💧
Stay tuned over the next few months as we watch this native seed mix establish. Native grasses and wildflowers can take a little longer to establish than Bermuda grasses, but once they do, the results are absolutely beautiful.
