McReynolds Designs Providing new home and remodel designs in the D/FW area. I was twice a board member of the Planning & Zoning Committee with the City of McKinney.

With over 28 years of residential design experience, I have designed high-end custom homes as well as houses for many of the area's volume home builders. In addition to new houses I have extensive experience designing remodels, renovations, historical restorations, additions, and outdoor living spaces. Though most of my designs can be found throughout North Texas I have also designed many projects

across the country, from Flagstaff, Arizona to Atlanta, Georgia. Until recently I was a board member of the Historic Preservation Committee with the City of McKinney and have also served on the Architectural Review Committee for a custom development in Lucas, Texas. In addition to providing design services to custom clients and area builders, I also provide drafting services to various architects and designers.

Last night Janet Wilson McReynolds and I had dinner for the first time at a new restaurant called John’s Place in downtown Waxahachie. It’s an Italian restaurant located in the Rogers Hotel on the first floor. The food was delicious; we both ordered the lasagna. All of the pastas are homemade.

The atmosphere is great and the surroundings are all original to the hotel. All of the photos are of John’s family, and he’s planning on hanging more as he’s able to get them from family members in Italy.

The floor is the original mosaic tile and the ceiling is beautiful. We met the owner, John, and enjoyed a nice visit with him. We will definitely be regulars and look forward to our next meal there.

These guys do incredible work. They’ve completely re-plumbed my 1922 Craftsman and are working on my parent’s new house.

Hats off to Texas Storm Shelter Guy whom we purchased a safe room from. This is the first sign of “going vertical” on my parent’s new house. It was built and installed by M5 Concepts out of Oklahoma.

Our framer came out yesterday and snapped the lines on the slab where the walls would go and the “big box” fit perfectly. In the end this important safety feature will be disguised with framing and Sheetrock so it’ll look like any other space in the house.

The framer came today to add snap lines where the walls will go. The Tornado shelter comes tomorrow, the lumber will be dropped on Friday, and then on Monday the framers will start framing the house!

I designed this house for a client several years ago, and it was built in the Seis Lagos community of Lucas, TX. I always thought that this elevation style was very fitting among the Colorado Rockies, so that's where I told Gemini to set it.

The final step for the slab construction is the tensioning of the interior cables. I’ve never seen this step and it’s amazing how it’s done. Thank you to Canales Concrete Construction for the amazing job they did, beginning to end.

I had Gemini create a rendered elevation of the house that I designed for my new neighbors across the street. They're in the process of pulling their building permit from the city now. I can't wait for it to be built and I'm looking forward to our new friends moving in!
