🎶💧 Some projects carry a little more meaning than others.
Bare Roots Landscape Solutions is honored to have designed and built the base and fountain for the beautiful new tribute honoring Jeffrey Liles — a champion of the Dallas music scene for more than four decades — now flowing at the legendary Longhorn Ballroom & Backyard Amphitheater campus.
The tribute was commissioned by Grammy-winning Dallas native Edie Brickell, and it's something special: Edie said she wanted a fountain alongside the sculpture because everybody loves one — and it keeps the birds singing around Jeff. We can't think of a better tribute for a man who has spent his life keeping music alive in this city.
Credit where credit is due — the incredible bronze bust of Jeff was sculpted by artist Louie Zakarian (yes, SNL's longtime makeup department head!). Our team's work was the base and fountain that bring the space to life. 💦
A heartfelt thank-you to Matt Stubbs, PLA, for trusting Bare Roots with the opportunity to be part of this project. Collaborations like this are why we love what we do.
Next time you're at the Longhorn for a show, take a moment by the fountain. That's Dallas music history — and a little Bare Roots craftsmanship — flowing together. 🤠

The Grammy-winning Oak Cliff native's gift, recognizing Liles' decades of championing North Texas music, is on display now behind the Kessler Theater.

to Chris Bacala and Bare Roots Landscape Solutions, Inc.! 🌟

We are thrilled to celebrate Chris Bacala, Founder & CEO of Bare Roots Landscape Solutions, Inc., as the recipient of the GROW 2026 Mary Ellen Graham Service Award!

This prestigious award, named in memory of Mary Ellen Graham, mother of Marty Grunder, founder of The Grunder Group, honors individuals who exemplify exceptional service and dedication to their communities. The award was established by Brodie Bruner—who is no longer with us, may he rest in peace. We would like to extend our gratitude to Weathermatic for graciously accepting the honor of continuing this meaningful legacy.

Chris's leadership extends far beyond his business; he has made a lasting impact through his involvement with numerous organizations, including the American Cancer Society, Crystal Charity Ball, Cattle Baron's Ball, Klyde Warren Park, St. John's School, Leadership Dallas, and the Dallas Regional Chamber, among many others.

Through Bare Roots Landscape Solutions, Chris has fostered a culture that engages and empowers employees and team members, while bridging the gap between the green industry and small businesses in the DFW area. His dedication demonstrates that business success and community service go hand in hand.

Thank you, Chris, for your tireless commitment to making DFW a better place. Your work inspires us all to strengthen our communities, one project at a time. 🌱
