Want to build next year? The planning needs to start sooner than most people realize.

A custom home involves several important steps before construction ever begins:

🏡 Secure the land or lot
📐 Finalize the architect and floor plan
💰 Establish the budget and financing
🤝 Meet with your builder
📝 Complete bidding and permitting
🔨 Begin construction

The bid process alone can take around four weeks, and construction commonly takes six to nine months after permitting. Waiting until January to get started may push your timeline much further out than expected.
