One arch can be a feature. Repeating it creates a design language.
For this home, we wanted the spaces to feel connected without making everything feel like one big open room.
The custom slat-wall divider became one of the ways we accomplished that.
Its oversized arched opening creates separation between the living and dining spaces while still allowing light, conversation and sightlines to move through the home. The warm wood slats add texture and dimension, while the sconces and contrasting interior turn the divider into an architectural feature of its own.
But the arch doesn't stop there.
We repeated that shape through the surrounding doorways and openings, allowing your eye to pick it up again as you move from one space to the next.
That's the difference between adding an interesting detail and designing a home where the details actually speak to each other.
