One of our competitors inspected this home yesterday. Quoted the homeowner a bait station install and told her they didn't see issues in the crawlspace...

Moisture levels are elevated. Crawlspace vents are unservicable and no v***r barrier present. Not only did we count a total of 14 termite tunnels extending up the foundation wall, there are also powder post beetles present.

This is exactly the reason you can no longer trust big pest control companies to do their jobs and take care of customers.

Their quote to install bait stations was not only ridiculous, it didn't encompass the full scope of work to be completed to address their issues.

Needless to say, we will be going back next week to tackle this monster and put an end to their crawlspace issues and protect their home moving forward!

While this picture isnt the greatest, its only Tuesday and we've already found some pretty wild activity (pun intended)

We are often asked why we don't post more photos of our general pest treatments. That answer is fairly simple.... our hands are usually full when doing these treatments so as to always provide a thorough and detailed service.

Inspections on the other hand, we typically take pictures of issues to provide to customers as evidence of activity.

"Once it gets too hot you don't see termites in Georgia."

Wrong again poorly informed technician for a big pest control company!

These were found yesterday in Cu***ng.

Termites will continue to invade structures and feed all year long. When the temperatures and moisture are like what we have been experiencing lately they are the most active. The reason being is they depend heavily on high moisture content. So when ambient moisture conditions remain elevated, you are far more likely to see them in exposed areas in your yard as well as on your home.

In the past week we have done several inspections behind competitors who told home owners they had no issues. Closer, proper inspections performed by us determined these companies are no longer doing proper inspections, they're just trying to make a sale.

They often don't inspect the entire home, they don't look at the wood to ground touching the structure and they don't bother to check everything around the foundation inside or out. They have also been caught not moving insulation out of the way to do a proper inspection.

These items are essential functions of a proper inspection.

*Myth*
Rodents only try to nest in homes over the winter...

*Fact*
Rodents especially squirrels will nest in homes year round. They are looking for a safe space. The reason you hear them more in the fall/winter is because they are actively foraging and storing food for the winter as well as spending more time in attics during these times.

Don't let myths allow you to become a victim of a bigger bill.

The longer the activity is allowed to continue, the more costly the exclusion may become.

Attic insulation today is typically blown in and as the presence of animals increases, the insulation becomes matted causing it to lose its R value which leads to increased heating and cooling costs.

Rodents will naturally chew some materials to sharpen their teeth and as modern construction practices change we are finding more and more soybased materials in construction materials. i.e. certain types of wiring, formaldehyde free spray foam, and even some modern adhesives. The reason this is significant is rodents don't know any better and will chew these materials thinking it's food.

If your pest control company isn't checking your attic regularly what are you paying them for?

Aside from rodents, the attic is the most common entry point for roaches and other pests.
