Earth Day isn't just one day for us; it's a daily practice.

When we see a landscape like this one, our first question is, "How can we build with the least impact?" This is sustainable trail building 101:
✅ Using the land's natural contours to minimize erosion.
✅ Protecting existing root systems.
✅ Designing trails that drain water without degrading the environment.

We take pride in building pathways that feel like they have always belonged.

Sometimes when we build a trail, we are asked to include trail adjacent features! The of Atlanta Government asked us to come help with some new trails at their summer camp property, but the staff had hoped to include a tandem obstacle course for the kids to divide into teams and race on when camp starts in the next few weeks. We were also able to finally connect the last section of the now full mile loop of walking trails on site. Thank you Atlanta Parks Dept. for allowing us to help build something for the kids!

The first of two boardwalks at Pettit Creek in Cartersville GA are complete! This boardwalk utilizes driven timber piles and a full HDPE plastic decking from Owens Corning and top cap using the same material. The railings have a galvanized wire mesh panel and are fully framed inside and out. The existing steel bridge was retained and the decking was replaced with galvanized steel traction tread from . New concrete approach pads and abutments along with new locking security bollards were added to complete the restoration. Thank you to Parks & Rec Department for partnering with us on such a wonderful project!

What goes into building a trail that’s good for both people and the land?

CNPC Executive Director Brittany walks a brand-new trail under construction with Aaron from Tailored Trails, our expert trail builder. This new trail is part of the Island Ford Trail Project, our long-term effort to restore and expand the park’s trail system. They talk about finding the right balance, healing the land while giving visitors a safe, fun experience. Every decision, from the route to how it’s built, is made with the park and its visitors in mind.

We are very excited about one of our latest projects that is close to home and important to many people in the North Atlanta area. The trail repairs at Island Ford is a partnership with the Chattahoochee National Park Conservancy and the National Park Service to repair existing trails, cut new trails and improve the trailhead at the main lodge in the park. This is the first of hopefully many parks in the Chattahoochee river parks system that stretches all the way North up to Lake Lanier. We'll continue to post pictures and updates as the project continues!

A great new article about our recent trail project in Iowa in collaboration with Linn County Conservation North of Cedar Rapids. This was great to be a part of, and we'd like to thank Ted and Daniel at LCC for trusting us with such a great new feature for the riders in NE Iowa! Thanks to all of the crew, Ethan, Dave, Alex and Andrea as well as the various volunteers that came out to help. Also thank you to Singletrack Mountain Bike Magazine for helping use share this with everyone.

After a devastating windstorm forced trail rebuilds, one Iowa county discovered an insatiable local appetite for gravity trails—and now they're building a bike park inspired by Bentonville.

We were honored to discover that our summer project in Dawson County, Georgia, at Styles Park was named the "Best Beginner Trail of 2025" for North America by Singletracks.com! We'd like to thank the Dawson County Parks staff, and our whole hardworking crew. None of this would be possible without all of you! We are looking forward to another successful year in 2026!

From private bike parks in Idaho to technical masterpieces in Quebec, 2025 delivered some of the best new mountain bike trails we've ever seen.

The new boardwalk in Cartersville GA is getting a full makeover! The decking rarely gets a lot of attention, but it's one of the most important choices for a bridge or boardwalk project. Price, future maintenance obligations and performance are important considerations. This photo highlights a 100% plastic (HDPE) decking material that is a full standard width 2x8 that has no wood fiber or filler. The galvanized tread with a textured surface is an excellent choice for a steel bridge or steel frame where weight and durability are key factors. Let us know if we can help you with a bridge or boardwalk that could use an upgrade and be ready to go for the spring!
