😂 Apparently, Italia thinks she’s taking over D&M Hardwood Flooring already! I told her she’s got her five minutes of fame, but Dad’s still got a few things to say! 😂💪

All jokes aside, come take a walk with us through this commercial office building on Camp Street, on the East Side of Providence!

A couple of weeks ago, we started installing vinyl flooring throughout this property, but we ran short on material. Once the additional flooring arrived, we came back and knocked out the final 600 square feet, completing another commercial project! 🔥

You just never know when Italia is gonna pop up in one of my videos 😂 I’ll be talking, minding my business, and out of nowhere she comes in, pushes me out of the way, and takes over! I guess she’s getting comfortable with this D&M life pretty quick.

Here’s another project we just finished up in the Edgewood area of Cranston. We sanded and refinished the entire first-floor apartment, which had a mix of old maple and oak flooring.

I was actually surprised at how well the two woods came together. We didn’t use any stain at all. Both floors were so old and naturally aged that once we sanded them and applied the natural oil based finish, they picked up that warm golden tone and blended together beautifully.

I’m also using these walkthroughs to teach Italia what to look for—the little details, imperfections, and anything that might need attention before we call a job complete. She’s picking up the flooring side fast, and as you can see, she’s definitely a natural on camera. 😂

There goes Italia, checking on another one! 👏 She’s making Dad proud.

Every day she’s learning a little more, what to look for, what questions to ask, and how to make sure the jobs are running smoothly. I think she’s going to get the hang of this pretty quick.

I’ll be back in town in a couple days to check on everything myself, talk with some customers, and catch up with the team to make sure everybody is on the same page and there are no issues.

Until then, I think my little girl has it covered. ❤️

Having a family business is pretty cool. This is something you dream about, and slowly but surely, I’m putting the pieces together and building something the next generation can be part of.

Here’s another one brought to you by Italia @ D&M Hardwood Flooring! 👏🔥

Today she’s checking in on one of our projects in Cranston, RI. We sanded these floors down and we’ll be finishing everything off with water-based polyurethane for that clean, natural look.

We also had to correct some patchwork in the kitchen where the wrong species of wood had previously been installed. We ripped it out, installed the correct wood, and now everything will be sanded and finished together so it blends the way it should. 🪵👌

Italia’s making her rounds, checking on the crews and making sure everything is running smoothly. Once Cranston checks out, it’s off to Barrington to see what’s going on over there!

She’s learning the business one jobsite at a time — and doing a great job at it. 💪

Not every project goes exactly as planned, it’s how you handle the unexpected that matters. 💪

This was a big room that needed to be sanded, refinished, and stained to match the rest of the house as closely as possible. We also had a few boards that needed repairs.

Once we opened the floor up, we discovered heated floor lines sitting directly on top of the subfloor, not where we normally expect to find them. Unfortunately, during the repair, one of the lines was accidentally cut.

Luckily, the contractor was right there and was able to get it repaired quickly so we could keep moving. Once we knew exactly where the lines were, we finished the repairs, sanded everything down, and matched the stain to the rest of the house as closely as possible.

Another project completed and another lesson learned along the way. 🙏

Not everything has to be perfect to be good content! 😂 Italia forgot the phone number for a second, started laughing, and kept it moving—and honestly, that’s what makes it real.

While I’m away, she’s holding things down and shooting some videos on her own. This one is about vinyl flooring and the word “waterproof.” The planks themselves may be waterproof, but water can still get through the seams and underneath the flooring, so spills should always be cleaned up quickly.

She’s learning, teaching, having fun with it, and getting better with every video. I’ll be back next week, but for now, Italia’s got you! 😂💪🏼

As you can see, Italia’s got this! 💪🏼🔥

Here we are checking up on another stair project. We removed the old pine stair treads and replaced them with beautiful new oak treads, giving this staircase a completely updated look.

Next step, we’ll be sanding and refinishing the hardwood floors throughout the house to match the new stairs and bring everything together.

I’ve been bringing Italia along, showing her what to look for and teaching her every part of the business—and she’s picking it up FAST. Before long, she’ll be the one running these walkthroughs without me! 😂
