I am always proud to be from Maine.

Tonight we had the opportunity to attend the launch of McAllister Towing/ Portland Tugboats newest vessel- built by the skilled folks at Washburn & Doughty.

Watching a vessel of this scale enter the water is a powerful reminder of the talent, work ethic, and pride that still exists in Maine’s trades.

And just like that we’re officially into the heart of the season. The trucks are dusty, the equipment hours are adding up, and the iced coffee consumption is questionable by normal standards. But - we’ve built patios, retaining walls, walkways, outdoor living spaces, drainage systems, and backyard transformations that started as rough sketches and became reality. "How did you come up with the name Head Light Landscape Construction?"

I was born and raised in Portland, Maine, and the name comes from Portland Head Light.

To me, a lighthouse represents everything a business should be. No matter how bad the storm gets, the light stays on. It's a point of reference for people coming and going, and even when you can't see the light, the foghorn is there to guide you.

That's how I've always wanted to run my business—be reliable, be consistent, and help guide clients through their projects from start to finish.
