Mahogany lovers… I need your opinion.

Should mahogany stay true to its classic rich red color, or do you prefer toning down the red for a more modern look?

The photo is from the same set after the original finish was stripped away. It’s always amazing to see what the wood is hiding underneath.

Please tell me I’m not the only one… 😅

Does anyone else make paint and stain sample sticks for every color they use? Or am I just out here creating the world’s tiniest lumber yard? 😂

It makes matching pieces and helping customers so much easier, but I feel like I may have taken it… just a little… too far. 🤣

Sneak peek 👀

This Henredon dresser and matching nightstand set officially made it into the shop today, and y’all… these pictures don’t even come close to doing it justice. The ribbon mahogany has so much depth it almost looks like it’s moving in the light.

And can we talk about the hardware?! These original solid brass k***s weigh an absolute ton. 😂 (Seriously… they’re ridiculously heavy.)

Fourteen drawers. Fourteen. Every one is coming apart for a deep cleaning, sanding, and refinishing.

Or… I could just paint it black and watch the comments explode. 😏

Kidding… probably.

For now, step one is a deep clean. Stay tuned.. this one is going to be a fun transformation.

How do we feel about velvet lined drawers??
I finished this old wash stand and added removable velvet lined boards in the top smaller drawers and lined the bottom ones with paper.

A little progress update. ❤️

Slowly getting moved into the new shop. It’s still more “organized chaos” than organized, but every day it’s coming together a little more.

Right now I’m focusing on setting things up so the workflow makes sense instead of just finding a place to put everything. Hopefully a little planning now means less time hunting for tools and more time bringing old furniture back to life.

Excited to see this space take shape. Lots of projects are waiting their turn.
