Today, we remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and the incredible courage of the firefighters and first responders who ran toward danger when everyone else was trying to escape.
At 23 Oaks, that sacrifice carries an even deeper meaning for our family. Our son wasn’t even born in 2001, but today he serves as a firefighter in our own community. He stands for the same commitment that has always defined the fire service—the willingness to answer the call, protect a stranger, and put others before yourself, no matter the cost.
Knowing that someone we love has chosen that calling gives us an even greater appreciation for the 343 FDNY firefighters who never came home that day, as well as every victim, first responder, and family forever changed by September 11.
We remember. We honor. We will never forget. 🇺🇸
