RISE Engineering was happy to be a sponsor and attend the Rhode Island Environmental Education Association (RIEEA) Annual Summit, Trees for the People: Environmental Justice for Rhode Island’s Frontline Communities, this past Saturday.

The event included a keynote address by Joann Ayuso, Kufa Castro, and Tonay Gooday-Ervin about tree equity and environmental justice, group roundtable discussions led by RIEEA community members, award presentations, and a post networking portion with other sponsors. Corporations, non-profits, individuals, etc. all share a responsibility to make changes and support all communities in environmental stewardship. RISE is proud to have energy efficiency initiatives that focus on supporting economic justice zones as well as women & minority-owned businesses.

RIEEA is a collaborative network of individuals and organizations committed to promoting high-quality environmental education throughout the state in order to increase the environmental literacy of all children and adults.

We are intently analyzing our waste stream, greenhouse gas emissions, and procurement practices, refining policy along the way to improve how we govern ourselves as responsible corporate citizens. Recently, we secured an avenue to recycle 100% of decommissioned solar PV systems, recirculating precious materials into the economy and preserving natural resources.

So much has changed since the first Earth Day back in 1970. The founding of RISE is a testimony to the positive change that bold, collection action can produce. In 1978, we made a commitment to providing energy efficiency solutions to our customers in response to rapidly escalating energy costs. Today, in 2022, we continue to commit
to sustainability and to with a renewed focus on energy efficiency and renewable energy.
