Most of Louisiana is under an extreme heat advisory today with heat indexes reaching over 110 degrees in parts of the state.

Limit time spent outdoors if possible and try to get any outdoor chores done in the evenings. Stay hydrated if you have to be outside. Keep an eye on young children and the elderly who are more vulnerable to heat-related illnesses and avoid bringing pets outside for prolonged periods.
