❄️ Freeze Alert – Pool Protection Tips ❄️
This week we’ll be experiencing a few nights with below-freezing temperatures, so we wanted to share some quick tips to help protect your pool and equipment.
1️⃣ Variable Speed Pumps
If you have a variable speed pump, it includes a built-in temperature sensor that will automatically turn the pump on to circulate water when temperatures drop.
✅ Nothing you need to do.
If you’re unsure what type of pump you have, feel free to message us and we’ll confirm for you.
2️⃣ Single Speed Pumps (Wheel Timer Systems)
If you have a single speed pump, it most likely runs on a wheel timer. You have two options to protect your pool during the freeze:
• Switch your timer to run overnight instead of during the day by changing the wheel from AM to PM. Pull the timer wheel outward and rotate it to adjust the time.
• Or, remove the “off” trippers from the timer and allow the pump to run 24/7 for the duration of the freeze. You can reinstall them once temperatures rise.
If you have any questions or want to be proactive about protecting your pool during this freeze, please send us a message — we’re happy to help.
Stay warm! 🥶🔥
