Our crew had some extra help this morning at Eakin Elementary! 🛠️

The fifth graders joined us as we dug holes and leveled the site for new musical playground equipment. Our team will continue setting the equipment and pouring the concrete. Tomorrow, we’ll return to remove the protective fencing, backfill the holes, and attach the remaining pieces. As long as everything goes according to plan, the kids will soon get to play on the equipment they helped build!

Moments like this plant seeds and may even inspire some of our city’s future builders. Years from now, these students will be able to drive by and say, “I remember the day I helped put that together.” That sense of pride and connection is one of the most meaningful parts of construction.

We love helping build places where kids can learn, play, and grow. Wishing the students and staff at Columbus City Schools a wonderful school year ahead! 🎶

Setterlin was proud to participate in the 23rd Annual Mary Linard Memorial Golf Outing! ⛳

As a fellow member of the Franklinton community, we are grateful for opportunities to support our neighbors at the Mount Carmel College of Nursing. Proceeds from the outing benefit the college’s scholarship fund, helping nursing students pursue their education and prepare to become our future healthcare providers.

Thank you to the Setterlin team members who represented us on the course and helped support such a meaningful cause!

Summer Intern Spotlight: Max Moloney

This summer marked Max’s second year with Setterlin. After working as a craftsman last summer, Max returned as a Project Engineer Intern and gained a new perspective on the management side of the construction industry.

Throughout his internship, Max learned how much communication, coordination, and planning take place behind the scenes each day. He also had opportunities to step in and assist with superintendent responsibilities, including coordinating trades, assigning tasks, and handling other day-to-day jobsite needs.

These experiences allowed Max to put what he had observed into practice and further develop his leadership and decision-making skills.

Max’s advice for future Setterlin interns is to learn from everyone on the jobsite. Each person and position brings a different perspective, and every conversation can provide valuable knowledge.

Summer Intern Spotlight: Rhett Stevers

This summer marked Rhett’s second year with Setterlin as a Project Engineer Intern. Throughout the summer, he continued building his experience by supporting public works projects, including those involving the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction.

One of Rhett’s proudest accomplishments was helping keep several projects on track while his project manager was out of town. The experience strengthened his understanding of the coordination, communication, and decision-making involved in managing a construction project.

Throughout his internship, Rhett received guidance and mentorship from his Project Manager, who encouraged him to ask questions and took the time to teach him the process rather than simply assign tasks.

Rhett’s advice for future Setterlin interns is to ask questions, remain engaged, and approach every task with curiosity and a genuine desire to learn.

This Independence Day feels especially meaningful as our country marks 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence. As we celebrate the holiday, we also recognize this historic milestone and reflect on the ideals of freedom, opportunity, and service that continue to shape our nation today.

Setterlin will observe the holiday on Friday, July 3, and will be closed. We wish everyone a safe and enjoyable Fourth of July.
