For all of us who hold real estate assets, especially their own office buildings for our own business', and who rent real estate to others, a lot of us have taken a hard financial hit with the virus. We have agreed to either reduced or no rent, our business's have been shut down or reduced by a large margin. We have lost customers, tenants, sub contractors and suppliers. We have helped support our families and those in need.
And as of yet, no government agency is waiving the taxes we have paid in the past.
Delaware and Franklin County have right on time sent out new property tax invoices. Neither has offered a reduction, even though, almost all of government was off work or reduced services.
While those of us in private industry dealt with furloughs, self employed with no unemployment, and many no income, the government expects us to keep taking it up the rear without government employees doing the same.
Taxpayers have paid enough. Right now all taxpayers need to take a pass on paying any amount to any government agency until we are made whole.
I have contacted Delaware County Auditor, and he says he could work out something to allow more time to pay. Franklin County is offering the same. Bull sh**.
I want a 120 day pass on all property taxes. Either they agree with the Taxpayers, or we withhold everything until we are satisfied,
