Long Post Alert🚨
Here is a deep dive into one of our projects. This post will explain in detail about what we do!
This project clearly required a great deal of coordination, attention to detail, and an understanding of how different landscaping elements interact — both functionally and aesthetically.
•The paver stones are uniformly spaced and aligned, which required careful measurement and planning.
The black decorative rocks lining each side enhance aesthetics and contrast, but also serve to stabilize the steps. They had to be evenly placed and well-contained.
We dealt with different materials meeting — pavers to gravel path, and pavers to concrete. These transitions needed to be smooth and stable to avoid trip hazards or long-term shifting.
•Building a small retaining wall may look simple, but there’s engineering and aesthetic detail behind it. The first course of blocks must be set in a perfectly level trench with compacted gravel.
The wall may not be tall, but it still has to withstand lateral pressure from soil and turf behind it.
• Installing artificial turf sounds straightforward, but it involves a lot of prep work and precision.
Like with the pavers, a proper base (typically crushed stone or decomposed granite) needed to be compacted to ensure a smooth and even surface.
You had to cut and fit the turf around multiple curves, retaining walls, and landscaping elements — requiring a lot of precision and patience. All seams must be invisible.
•For this project, we worked closely with the homeowner to design a landscape bed that complemented their home’s architecture and outdoor living space.
Mid-size plants add depth, while low-growing plants and ground covers create a natural transition to the lawn.
We used a mix of rock, mulch, and plant textures to break up the space while maintaining a clean, modern look.
This wasn’t just a landscaping job — it was a multi-faceted construction and design project. A project like this is a great example of how landscaping blends engineering and art!
