Columbia, Missouri I grew up in a family that was serious about fine art.

My father was a painter and photographer, and it was natural for me to pursue this aspect of my life. My photographic training began early (with childhood darkroom experience), and continues to this day every time I pick up the camera. My love of oil painting also dates back to my childhood, when I learned to appreciate art from my mother and my oil painter father. Life is a never-ending learning

I am so proud of my oil painting student, Carrie Elliot. This is an image from her participation in the Missouri 340 boat race two years ago (she finished with honors this year).

Now that she has finished this painting, I have room in my schedule for another student.
I make it easier than paint by numbers, so if you have been toying with the idea of learning oil painting, this may be the opportunity you’ve been waiting for.

I am so proud of my oil painting student, Amanda Powell. Although she has previous painting experience, this is her first oil painting. This work has great depth, with dramatic perspective, a masterfully-painted sky, and precision brush work.
