Acorns are falling!

09/27/2026

Planning an invasive treatment job but this time we need to get the big guns out!
We will be releasing native shrubs and trees by mulching down the invasive shrubs.
This will kill some of the invasive shrubs and allow ones that sprout back to be easily treated with herbicide in the next 1-2 years. Excited to be planning this job!
Stay tuned for more updates!

Spray season is here but the window is closing quickly depending on what and how you are spraying. We thought we would share some of our foliar spraying equipment setups. You don't need to spend much to have a big impact on your habitat! Invasive plants tend to hold their leaves longer into the growing season. This give you a longer window to treat them but also minimize impacts to native plants nearby!
Get out this weekend and enjoy creation while taking care of some invasive plants!

Show us your spray setups photos in the comments!

I love when a plan comes together! This white pine stand used to be thick cover for wildlife years ago (this is a generational tract) and the landowner wanted to start the pine regeneration process again. This took some careful thought and a few things had to line up.This project has been in several stages for a few years. First a herbicide treatment was used to kill the stilt grass and ferns. Next, the lighting was adjusted via a timber sale. And finally, a timely pine cone crop!

You can have the best plan in place when it comes to forest management, but there are variables that can delay or change your plan.
It's a good day when things fall into place and it go as planned!
If you look closely, you can see a tiny tulip poplar growing!

Looking forward to see this stand develop in the next few years!
