A Freeze Warning is in effect tonight in Colorado Springs, with lows around 30°. If you haven’t fired up your furnace yet this season, tonight is when you find out whether it works. It’s much better to learn that before bedtime than at 2 a.m.

A tune-up catches small problems before they leave you without heat. This October and November, new customers can get our HVAC tune-up for $49, and $25 of every tune-up goes to Care and Share Food Bank for Southern Colorado. We’re also collecting non-perishable food, you can drop them off at our office, or give them to your expert at your home, so you can help your neighbors stay fed as it gets colder.

First freeze alert: a Freeze Watch is in the forecast from Thursday night into Friday morning, with lows around 29° in Colorado Springs and about 32° in Pueblo. Before then, take 10 minutes to protect your pipes: disconnect your garden hoses and shut off outdoor faucets, open the cabinet doors under sinks on exterior walls, let a faucet on an exterior wall drip overnight, and make sure you know where your main water shutoff is. A burst pipe is much easier to prevent than to repair. If you’d like a pro to check your plumbing, we have experts available!

Wednesday looks like our first truly chilly day, and that’s when the space heaters come out. A few quick tips: plug a space heater straight into a wall outlet instead of a power strip or extension cord, keep it away from anything that can burn, and never leave it running unattended. If a breaker trips, or the plug or outlet feels warm, that’s your cue to have it looked at.

Enjoy the sunshine today, because a big change is on the way. The forecast shows highs dropping from around 80° today to the 50s by Wednesday, with rain moving in. Here’s a quick plumbing check before the weather turns: make sure your downspouts and gutters are clear and draining away from the house, test your sump pump if you have one, check that your floor drains aren’t slow or gurgling, and remember your water heater works harder when the incoming water gets colder.

If anything seems off, we have plumbing openings this week.

Putting up Halloween decorations this weekend? A few quick safety checks first: use outdoor-rated extension cords, plug outdoor decorations into GFCI-protected outlets, and don’t daisy-chain cords together. If a breaker trips when the inflatable goes on, or an outdoor outlet doesn’t work, don’t just keep resetting it. That’s a sign something needs a look.

We have electricians with openings today. 📞 (719) 204-5535

It feels like summer out there, with Pueblo forecast near 87° today. But in Southern Colorado, the first hard freeze can show up fast. Here’s a quick checklist to do while the weather’s still nice: disconnect your garden hoses, shut off and drain your outdoor faucets, check for any drips, and make sure you know where your main water shutoff is. A burst pipe is a rough way to find out the weather turned. If you’d rather have a pro take a look, we have plumbing openings Friday and Saturday. 📞 (719) 204-5535

Halloween decorations are going up, and Christmas lights aren't far behind.

Inflatables, string lights, fog machines, and spotlights all add up on the same few circuits, and that's usually when breakers start tripping or outdoor outlets stop working. If your lights flicker when the decorations go on, a breaker trips every time you plug in the inflatable, or you've been running extension cords all season, your panel may be telling you it needs help.

Our electricians have openings today, and getting it handled before Christmas means your lights are the only thing lit up this season. 📞 (719) 204-5535

It's a record-breaking 85° in Colorado Springs today, and everything in your house that plugs in is working overtime. If your breakers keep tripping, your lights flicker when the AC kicks on, or an outlet feels warm to the touch, that's your electrical system telling you something. Add an afternoon thunderstorm and it's worth getting checked. We've got electricians with openings today. Call (719) 204-5535 today!

Warm, sunny stretch like this makes it easy to forget about the house, but it's actually a great time to deal with plumbing before cold weather moves in. A few things worth checking: how old is your water heater (most last 8–12 years), is that drain still slow, and is there a drip under a sink you keep meaning to look at? Small issues are a lot cheaper to fix now than after the first hard freeze. Our schedule today is full, but we've got room the next couple of days.
