Cask and Chisel

02/03/2026

Friends and family — an important update from us.

After a lot of prayer, thought, and honest conversation, we’ve decided to pause Cask and Chisel Woodworking & Engraving for now.

Mike’s recent hospital stay was a bit of a wake-up call. It made clear that with everything on his plate, his body needs more rest than it’s been getting. To make sure we’re prioritizing health, family, and sustainability (the unsexy but important stuff), we need to shift our time and focus.

This isn’t necessarily goodbye forever — just a season of rest and reset.

We are incredibly grateful for the love, encouragement, and support you’ve shown us over the years. Truly. You made this little venture something special, and we’ll always be thankful for that.

Important note: our namesake band Cask and Chisel Celtic Band is NOT going anywhere — the music carries on!

Thank you for understanding, for cheering us on, and for being part of our story. ❤️

High-energy Colorado Celtic band bringing Scottish & Irish music, sea shanties, audience sing-alongs, and guided contra dancing to pubs, festivals, weddings, and special events.

With the start of the holiday season we've been working on all kinds of custom orders including ornaments, cutting boards, water bottles, and key chains. While we've been busy with those things, I decided to take on a pet project of mine. I'm going to work on an Advent art series on wood based on scenes from scripture, and in particular focusing on the Joyful Mysteries of the Rosary and include the text of scripture associated with the scene on live edge wood plaques.

This scene depicts the Visitation and features the Magnificat in Latin.

We've also been working on dialing in our settings for photo-realistic burns and highly-detailed rasterized graphics.

If you have an idea for a custom wall hanging or an ornament, we'd love to hear it! Share it in the comments!!!

Having a great day hanging out with one our newest partners, Whistle Pig brewery! We were thrilled to make a custom cedar jockey box cover for them. Great times, great people, great beer!

Hey guys!!! We are going to be out at Pikes Peak Brewing Company in downtown Colorado Springs this Saturday from 3 - 7 celebrating "Half Way to St. Patrick's Day" (which is basically Christmas in July, but with beer and Irish music).

MORE IMPORTANTLY, we will be supporting the 2022 IAFF Fallen Firefighter Memorial event which will be held that same day.

I don't know if you know this, but one of our marketing elements is our very own celidh band so we will not only be selling our wares but we will also be providing some entertainment as well. If you are in the area, come out, have a beer, listen to some music and show some love!
