📣We are not saying to get rid of your recessed *aka* can lights. They definitely serve a purpose for functionality and even blend well when you have other decorative lighting.

🤍However, when you’ve got eyeball-looking recessed lights and want to add some character and detail —Mini flush mounts just might be the ticket. They catch your eye without demanding attention.

✨It’s a subtle detail that adds so much warmth and character.

2️⃣Two problems.

Problem #1. NO SWITCH. The original housing that we are using for this light was on a continuous energized circuit. It was originally wired for a ceiling fan and would have been independently operated on the fan.

Problem #2. LITTLE ATTIC SPACE. Our sunroom is an addition with virtually no space between the ceiling and roofline-which meant no easy way to run new wiring. We could have cut channels into the finished ceiling, run the wire, then patch it all back together but that felt like a lot of commitment for one light.

❎ But any chandelier/pendant without a dimmer was out of the question.

🙋 So we came up the idea of putting a rotary on/off + DIMMER switch on the individual light itself. And it worked!!!!

🌟Because sometimes good design isn’t just about what you see-it’s about solving what you don’t.

We carefully transformed this antique door — that was original to her grandmother’s house — into an art piece. We started by carefully cutting the door down to size, preserving the original stained glass, spindles and woodworking. A local stained glass artisan repaired the window. And then as a finishing touch, we added in lighting to illuminate every detail.

Now it’s more than something hanging on a wall, it’s a family story, beautifully preserved for generations to come ❤️

⚒️We dismantled the original garage door and closed in this garage opening to create a brand new music studio — added in a new French door, and finished it off with exterior board and batten siding. On the inside, we added in new recessed lighting, built and added custom cymbal lighting and added in all the electrical to run and power the new recharged mini split.

🎨The homeowner completed the room by color drenching with Sherwin Williams Iron Ore; adding sound proof panels, added in foam flooring, and installed the curtain dividers to cover a storage unit and provide more room for workout equipment.

🎧Although we don’t do full renovations— our services provided a canvas for the homeowner to finish off a totally repurposed area for a new season of life —

🖼️ From inspo to created. Yall know we love all things lighting over here!

🤳Our homeowner sent us an inspo pic and we were excited to execute her design.

🪛This custom built light with five cymbals at varying heights created interest and drama to this already beautifully designed room. Operated on a separate switch, the color temperature of the bulbs compliments the masculine style and creates a layer of ambient warmth tying the room all together.

🏡A mini split is basically the first official step in your single bay garage becoming the bonus living space you swore you’d never need when you bought the house.

🪭This pre-charged mini split fit the bill to add in air and heat for this room that’s going to solve
multiple space saving problems!

🔋We added in the wiring, the necessary breaker and installed the pre-charged unit.

👨‍🍳👩‍🍳Grills don’t last forever and this brick surround was keeping our client held to a certain size and space configuration for a new grill.

🧱By removing the brick surround, the space is open and able to accommodate any type and size of grill.

💨On top of the grill not cooking well anymore, their current vent wasn’t pulling enough smoke out of the area — we replaced it with a 1200 CFM stainless steel vent insert, with three levels of power (depending on what you’re grilling) and a light.

🎨 Sanded and cleaned the vent cover and added a fresh coat of stain and sealer.

🧺She’s ready for porch and grillin’ season.
