My first Project as a Trim Carpenter Apprentice

It's amazing what a few finishing details can do to completely transform a space.

Some of you may remember this staircase from a previous post. We recently returned to add custom picture-frame wall molding along both staircases, as well as three large picture-frame panels overlooking the foyer. Those details really brought the entire space together and gave it a more finished, custom appearance.

I had the opportunity to help complete this project as part of my regular job while working alongside my lead carpenter. On the staircase wall paneling and trim, he handled the layout, measurements, spacing, and cuts while I completed the installation. For the three large picture-frame panels overlooking the foyer, we switched roles—I made the cuts while he completed the installation. It's been a great opportunity to learn both the installation and fabrication sides of trim carpentry from an experienced craftsman.

Every project helps me continue developing my skills, improving my attention to detail, and growing both in my career and through Kings Of Battle Construction.

These photos are from a staircase installation I had the opportunity to help complete while working as a trim carpentry apprentice. Although I wasn't solely responsible for the entire project, I had hands-on involvement in several key areas of the installation and learned a tremendous amount throughout the process.

Working alongside experienced craftsmen has helped me continue building the skills and attention to detail that I bring to every project.

Whether it's trim work, custom woodworking, shelving, or general handyman services, I'm committed to delivering quality workmanship and continuing to grow in the trade every day.

⚒️ Completed Custom Coffee Table Project ⚒️

Another custom build completed here at Kings of Battle Construction.

This handcrafted 3' x 3' coffee table was designed and built completely from scratch and combines rustic farmhouse styling with practical everyday functionality.

✅ Dual lift-top design

🛠 Custom Furniture Project Update 🛠

Another custom piece currently in the works at Kings of Battle Construction.

This handcrafted 3' x 3' coffee table was designed and built completely by hand using solid wood construction and features two lift-top sections with hidden storage underneath. One side lifts traditionally, while the opposite side will feature a pull-forward lift mechanism for added convenience and functionality.

The top has been stained Dark Walnut, while the base has received its black finish and will be distressed to reveal portions of the wood beneath, creating a rustic farmhouse appearance. Final assembly, distressing, installation of the pull-forward lift hardware, and protective clear coat are scheduled for tomorrow.

Looking forward to putting the finishing touches on this project and sharing the completed piece soon.
