Petals for Paws

Over 500 plants dug up and drying out for the next week then into storage over winter! Thank you so much to the volunteers that came to help us today. It was very appreciated. Just over 2 hours to team dig out the plants and our little helpers ran them to the edges of the garden so they were out of our way and didn’t get damaged. 😋😁 Volunteers are priceless and invaluable!

We had all of the gardens taken down within about an hour today! A handy set of volunteers with a few electric saws and we made quick work of the dahlias. We’ll be digging them up next weekend with the skidsteer so stay tuned for how well that goes. We’re leaning and refining the process as we gain some experience with it. 😁 so sad to see the beautiful flowers done but it’s necessary. 🙂 peek our youngest volunteer (and clearly the TALLEST) standing at a whopping 4ft tall next to our pile of bushes. 🤪

First of all, THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU to every single one of you amazing people who donated craft supplies, jars, containers, bottles, time, financial support, energy, social media shares, word of mouth connections, compliments, and consent to share pictures of you and your family and friends! We literally can’t begin to tell you how much it has meant to us to connect with every single person we’ve been able to. All of the local communities have been so generous and kind and supportive of what we’re trying to do which is help and support the animals in the care of Prairie Paws Rescue💜🥰🐶🌸🐱

We’ve completed our last You Pick of the season and tomorrow the hard work begins again cutting down all of the 500+ dahlia bushes so we can dig them out next weekend and get them stored for winter. Thank you to the local businesses who donated the door prizes! We will be reaching out to the winners soon to get those to them. 🥰
