I am honored to have been part of this unique project! The construction of a water tight framed enclosure for these painted tiles is certainly my favorite job of 2026. It turned out so well and seeing it hung up on the main road is really special feeling. Thank you for the opportunity to think outside the box!

You might imagine that a 1950's concrete tile floor would be difficult to remove.. This one was, infact easy enough to do with one hand. Just a few shattering blows with a spud bar and the whole thing crumbles like gingerbread.

Our bathroom remodel is coming right along. Gotta love a complete blank slate! We have to sister in some fresh wood to level the floor. The old concrete tile base weighed at least 700lb plus the cast iron tub, another 300lb. The original builders chopped 7 inches out of one joist for the tub drain. All the blocking was removed and the toilet leaked for decades, before we bought the place, causing substantial decay in three other joists. It all added up to a big dip in the joist line. It was surprisingly easy to remove the tile floor.. Let me know if you need help with a project like this!

A little teaser of a challenging project in the works. A custom vanity for our new half-bath at home. This unique design was centered around an antique washbasin accented with a reclaimed barnwood counter. We will be drilling a hole in it so cross your fingers for that part. The curved kick plate went very well but the doors might be more difficult. Stay tuned for updates. It looks like we will be snowed in for a while which might move progress along faster.

Phase 2 of 4 in our replumbing is complete! This job took everything out of me but now we have a half bath in the master bedroom. Please disregard the shoddy wiring and cracked foundation walls. Those projects are part of phase 67.
