We have exciting news …we’re now accepting roofs! At the beginning of the year, we were presented with the unique opportunity to take on more roofing work.

Ken Watson and Ricky Burdine began building out experienced crews, gaining more opportunities to bid, and then personally overseeing the jobs we’ve been awarded. This division of MCG is rapidly growing, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to show you how we can put quality work into place with every roofing project.

Reach out and let us bid your job, residential or commercial—we’re ready to help you!

*Employee Spotlight*

Meet Tony Kestel, President of . If you’re looking for the backbone of our company, look no further. He’s solid and steady—a true, principled leader to the core.

Tony served our country for four years in the Marines, and, after that, he went into Construction Management. After gaining several years of experience, he eventually found his way to MCG.

Tony believes that what sets apart from other companies is that we feel and operate like a family. He says, “It’s not a normal job; we take a deep personal interest in each other and look out for one another. We take care of the business like it’s our company and our money.”

Tony strongly feels that customers believe in MCG because we are a unique company who is good at problem solving. And, truth be told, Tony is the man behind the scenes meticulously planning so that our teams can put quality work into place.

When Tony’s not at work, you can find him spending time with his wife, Mary Ann, who he’s been with for 22 years, or playing sports in the backyard with his 10 year old son, Israel, which gives him great joy. He also feels tremendous pride in his son Brayden, who just finished up his duty in the Marines and works on power lines in North Carolina, where he lives with his wife and two daughters.

We feel lucky to have him on our team because he’s the glue that holds us together. Tony truly makes our team stronger and our days better.

Putting quality work into place is what we do . And selective demo is a big part of that process. In this job, the existing restrooms were directly between two staircases- all of which were non compliant to current standards.

Selective demo allows our team to see and identify potential problems before new plans are drawn. It’s an important step in the process so that we can deliver the quality projects our customers have come to expect and appreciate.

THROWBACK THURSDAY

is a full circle dream that was pursued for 20 years by . Fire Co. 16 was first spotted in 1993, and almost instantly, saving this piece of Cincinnati history became the goal.

But it wasn’t until eight years later that Matt tried to purchase the building from WHRF. However, the city of Cincinnati had other plans and took back the property. It wasn’t until 2011 that they put out the RFP to stabilize the structure.

was awarded the work through an open public bid process, and the rest, as they say, is history. After 37 years of sitting vacant after a fire, repaired the masonry, reframed the floors, and added a new roof. Through that process, MCG contacted a developer who found the just right occupant for the commercial space on the first floor and the residential build out on the second floor.

MCG was ultimately awarded the work for both, and Fire Co. 16 became the home of —which breathed new life into this historic building. For nine years has occupied this space and is currently thriving in it.

, along with Ed Wright , continues to be proud of putting quality work in place: high level custom carpentry, the re-installation of the old fire pole, and the preservation of as many original components as possible. It’s been said that good things come to those who wait. But seeing our vision come to life and invest in this beautiful and historic building is truly serendipity. If you’re ever in Walnut Hills, be sure to order a pizza and enjoy a piece of Cincinnati history.

Here Matt Max] we are often asked about the type of construction work we do. Bottom line…we put quality work in place. From small, emergency repairs for the city of Cincinnati to multi million dollar development…we do it all.

In this case, we are working with the Hilltop Home Co to transform an existing 1 bed/1bath residential home into a 3 bed/2 1/2 bath in the quaint community of Pleasant Ridge. With value engineering, the help of Ed Wright , and the vision of the client, we are breathing new life into this charming, residential home.

This property will hit the market in a couple months, and the just right buyer will get the keys to a collaborative, quality project that will increase the beauty and value of our beloved city. And you can believe this… Matt Max], we take great pride in bringing a client’s project or dream to life.

Located directly across the street from Findlay Market in OTR, MCG is putting the finishing touches on this 12-unit historic apartment building with first floor retail space. We’ve remade all the historic wood windows on the front, exterior of the building. And just inside, custom carpentry is being pristinely finished to meet all historic preservation standards.

That’s 12,000 sq ft of historic renovations in just seven months. This is unheard of!

MCG takes deep pride in putting quality work in place that preserves the tradition and beauty of the city of Cincinnati. This project will be turned over in two weeks, and we couldn’t be more thrilled.

For 11 plus years, has had the same logo representing our steady and exceptional work. And we believe our reputation has made us a trusted and true partner to countless small businesses and commercial clients in the City of Cincinnati.

But about six months ago, we decided it was time to breathe new life into our branding. We wanted something that would match the energy and vitality of our company, our people, and our mission.

Working closely with our trusted friends , enthusiastically worked toward a complete rebranding. From signage, to vehicle wraps, to a brand new website, the future is looking pretty bright around here thanks to our talented friends.

But don’t worry—you can rest assured. That even with the new branding, will stay true to its roots. And our focus will always be putting quality work in place.
