We had a great meeting of the Arizona NHWA Chapter on March 28th. The AZ Chapter was founded in January of 2017 making it the 1st Chapter formed. While we were together we toured a few venues for our next conference to be held in the Greater Phoenix area in May of 2027. Thanks to Bob and Beth Hunt of Mesa for hosting.

Life around a home keeps moving even when the homeowner is away. Mail still arrives, weather changes, and the property continues to operate day after day. When a home is unoccupied, routine visits help homeowners stay informed about what’s happening at their property.

Professional Home Watch supports responsible oversight and risk mitigation. Protect your property with professional Home Watch oversight.

Our mission is simple but powerful: To establish and maintain the highest standards and ethics in the Home Watch industry. To strengthen trust between homeowners and professionals. To protect the public from uninsured and unethical operators. To promote awareness and accountability across the United States and Canada.

National Home Watch Month is a reminder that professionalism does not happen by accident. It is built through standards, leadership, and a shared commitment to doing things the right way.

Professional Home Watch is more than a favor from a neighbor, it’s a structured service built on defined standards, documented visits, and clear accountability.

In an unregulated industry, professionalism matters. NHWA accreditation is achieved through compliance with vetted standards. It reflects that a company has met established requirements, maintains proper insurance, and operates under a formal Code of Ethics that includes protections designed to safeguard homeowners while their property is unoccupied.

During National Home Watch Month, we are highlighting the difference professional standards make.

Vacant and unoccupied are not the same and the distinction can matter for insurance and risk mitigation.

A vacant property is entirely empty of people and contents. Utilities may be disconnected, and the property can face increased exposure to theft or damage.

An unoccupied property is not currently being lived in, but it remains furnished with utilities on, indicating an intention to return, such as during travel or seasonal absence.

NHWA accredited companies work with both vacant and unoccupied homes, providing structured oversight designed to support risk mitigation.

If your property will be vacant or unoccupied, choose an NHWA accredited company operating under vetted standards.
