🚨 STOP! Before you pour chemical drain cleaner down your drain, think twice. 🚨

That quick fix might actually be putting extra stress on your plumbing, especially if you have older pipes or use chemical cleaners repeatedly.

In this video, Goode breaks down:
🔹 How chemical drain cleaners work
🔹 Why they can damage certain pipes and seals
🔹 What happens when cleaner sits in a completely blocked drain
🔹 Safer options for tackling minor clogs
🔹 Why recurring clogs could be a sign of a bigger plumbing problem

🪠 For minor clogs, a plunger or drain snake may be a better first step. And if the same drain keeps clogging, it’s worth finding out why instead of repeatedly treating the symptom.

When it comes to your plumbing, what you pour down the drain matters. Goode Plumbing is here to help keep your drains flowing.

Even city water can carry contaminants that affect taste, odor, and sometimes your health. Here are some common tap water contaminants:

🔹 Lead: Often from old pipes or plumbing fixtures

🔹 Chlorine and chloramine: Used to disinfect water, but can leave an unpleasant taste or odor

🔹 Sediment and rust: From aging pipes, causing discoloration or a gritty texture

🔹 Bacteria and viruses: Rare but possible, especially if plumbing isn’t properly maintained

🔹 Pesticides and chemicals: Can seep into water sources from agriculture or manufacturing

🔹 Hard minerals: Calcium and magnesium can build up in pipes and affect appliances and skin

If you're looking to improve the quality of your home's water, now is a great time to save! We're currently offering $250 OFF water filtration systems. Contact our team today to learn more!

The plumbing in your kitchen works hard every day, so it’s important to keep it in good shape. Some everyday kitchen habits can cause more damage than you might realize.

🔹 Pouring boiling water down the sink.
Boiling water can damage or warp certain types of pipes.

🔹 Pouring grease or cooking oil down the drain.
Grease hardens as it cools, creating stubborn blockages inside your pipes.

🔹 Putting the wrong things down your garbage disposal.
Your garbage disposal isn't designed to handle everything. Fibrous foods, bones, grease, coffee grounds, and other tough materials can damage the disposal.

If you have questions about your kitchen plumbing or need to schedule service, don't hesitate to reach out to our team.
