For years, I've carried an idea in my heart.
In 2002, my son Christopher Jr. passed away from asthma at the age of 10. Like many parents who have experienced loss, I've often asked myself how I could turn that pain into purpose.
Today, Christopher's mother, Kim, and I are taking the first steps toward doing exactly that.
Over the coming months, we'll be building The Amris Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to helping children and families affected by asthma through awareness, education, advocacy, and direct support.
Our first goal is simple:
Help children breathe easier.
We'll be sharing the journey as we meet with healthcare professionals, hospitals, community leaders, and potential partners to develop programs that can make a real difference in the lives of families dealing with asthma.
This mission is deeply personal for us. It is our way of honoring Christopher's life by helping other children and families facing similar challenges.
If you'd like to follow the journey, offer ideas, volunteer, partner, or simply cheer us on, we'd love to have you with us.
And if you know any healthcare professionals, respiratory therapists, asthma specialists, pediatricians, hospital administrators, community health workers, or healthcare organizations that may be interested in this mission, please send me a message. We'd love to connect.
This is just the beginning, and we look forward to sharing the journey with you.
