Opportunity Alert from the Chicago Urban League:

The Chicago Urban League is now accepting applications for the Solar Photovoltaics (PV) Installation Training program. To enroll, individuals must be at least 18 years old, have a valid state I.D., social security card or birth certificate, and a resume. Applications are taken Monday thru Friday from 9 AM to 4 PM at 4510 S. Michigan Ave., Chicago, IL 60653. Application deadline is Wednesday, April 3rd at 4 PM. Applicants will need to take a TABE test and earn an 8.0 on their math to move to the next step in the process. Twenty individuals will be selected for the first cohort. The program starts on Friday, April 6, 2018, at 9 AM. Classes are 8 hours each day (Fridays and Saturdays) for three consecutive weekends.

Solar Jobs Training is a 48-hour training program which utilizes classroom training and hands-on lab activities to prepare students for entry-level work in the solar industry. Certifications include the PV Installation Certification. Coursework helps students work toward various industry credentials, including those through the North American Board of Energy Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP).
