Following the successful startup of the new permanent pumping system at Lake Michie earlier this year, construction efforts have shifted primarily to the Little River Pump Station. To support ongoing work, the temporary bypass pumping system was relocated from Lake Michie and placed into operation at Little River, allowing crews to complete demolition of existing systems and advance installation of the new permanent pumping infrastructure.
Current work includes replacement of incoming utility power feeds, installation of new raw water pumps, piping and supports, and upgrades to electrical power and control systems. Improvements are also underway to the existing intake and spillway structures.
Looking ahead, crews will focus on completing all remaining civil, mechanical, and electrical work, followed by vendor inspections and system verifications for the new pumps, piping, valves, and control systems. Once completed, startup and operational testing of the new permanent pumping system will begin, bringing the project one step closer to final completion and demobilization.
