We’re proud to share exciting progress and a major safety achievement from our Mebane WRRF Expansion jobsite, where the team has surpassed 101,205 manhours with zero OSHA recordables, a powerful reflection of their commitment to safety and looking out for one another every day. In April, a key milestone was reached with the generator set on site, helping drive the project forward, while concrete work continues to advance with over 85% poured. Overall, the project is now about 41% complete, and we’re building strong momentum—great work by the entire crew!

Crowder is proud to mark the completion of Phase 2 of 3 at the Cary Park and Black Creek Greenway Project! A major milestone was reached with the Cary Parkway bridge opening at the end of April—and it’s already making an impact.

If you haven’t seen it yet, the bridge looks absolutely stunning lit up at night, adding both beauty and connectivity to the area. We’re excited to keep the momentum going as we head into the final phase of this project.

“This bridge is more than just steel and concrete—it’s a symbol of resilience.”

Crowder is honored to be recognized with a DBIA Excellence Award for our SCDOT Bridge Package 29 project, an emergency design‑build effort to replace two critical river crossings washed out by severe weather in South Carolina. Our team delivered a new 270‑foot prestressed girder bridge on US 76 in Oconee County and a 120‑foot flat slab bridge on US 278 in Jasper County—both restoring major traffic arteries ahead of schedule.

Despite jobsites being 3.5 hours apart, fluctuating river levels, long material haul times, and aggressive schedules, the team collaborated closely with SCDOT and our design partners to keep communities connected. With a strong focus on safety, quality, and communication, both bridges were completed faster than baseline schedules, reopening roads that local residents rely on every day.

This award reflects the power of integrated design‑build delivery, trusted partnerships, and a shared commitment to rebuilding better, faster, and smarter when it matters most. Congratulations to the project team!

The Crowder Corporate and Heavy Civil offices went to a Charlotte Knights baseball game in April. The Knights played the Nashville Sounds in an exciting doubleheader. We had a great turnout of employees and their families despite the rain. Luckily, we gathered together under a covered picnic area!

Construction began last June for the six bridges included in Crowder's Design Build Package 32 contract with the SCDOT. The project consists of six low volume bridges in Orangeburg, Calhoun and Bamberg Counties. The project was awarded in April and the first bridge was completed and opened to traffic in October, the second opened in December, two opened in January, and all six bridges have now been completed. The team has been working hard!
