C Designers Makenzie Elam and Alexus Jones attended the 2026 NC Black Women in Architecture Brunch, hosted by NCNOMA in partnership with the Black Women in Architecture Network. This year’s theme, “She Shapes Space,” celebrated Black women in architecture while creating space to connect, share experiences, and strengthen their presence within the profession.

C Design was proud to sponsor this year’s brunch, which supports the Desiree Cooper (DVC) Memorial Scholarship. Makenzie is a 2025 DVC Memorial Scholarship recipient and a 2025 NCNOMA Scholarship recipient.

The event continues to elevate the voices and experiences of Black women in architecture across North Carolina and beyond.
