A big part of our Build With You process is material selection, especially when it comes to color and finish choices. In this project, the homeowner had a very specific direction. They wanted a black tile on the spa paired with a marble cap to give it a more grounded, modern accent, something that feels clean but still stands out in a subtle way.

For the pool itself, the goal shifted toward contrast. Instead of keeping everything uniform, we went with a blue glass tile and a full waterline tile selection that would really pop once the water is in. That contrast between the spa and pool helps separate the spaces visually while still keeping the overall design cohesive.

We worked with Joey on a full backyard project in Arizona after he went through interviews with five to six of the largest pool companies in the state. One of the more interesting parts of this build was the oversized Baja shelf with integrated bubblers. It’s one of those features that seems simple at first, but it completely changes how the pool gets used.
