During this crawlspace restoration, one of the ducts was disconnected and we discovered something most homeowners never expect:

Dead mice inside the duct box.

Rodents can enter damaged ductwork and create problems that extend far beyond the crawlspace itself.

That's why critter proofing is an important part of restoring a healthier crawlspace.

💬 Have you ever had rodents living inside HVAC ductwork?

Many homeowners believe that once a French drain is installed, the moisture problem has been solved.

In reality, an interior French drain is only one part of a complete drainage strategy.

In this inspection, Dennis explains why water was still entering the crawlspace and why preventing water from reaching the foundation is just as important as removing it afterward
💬 Had you heard that an interior French drain shouldn't be your only moisture solution?

Many homeowners assume that sealing a crawlspace automatically solves moisture problems.

It doesn't.

In this inspection, Dennis shows how long-term water intrusion continued even after the crawlspace was sealed because the source of the water was never corrected.

💬 Had you ever heard that a sealed crawlspace can still have major water issues?

Many homeowners think foundation cracks begin with a structural problem.

Often, the real issue begins with water.

If rainwater continues collecting around a foundation, saturated soil can contribute to movement over time.

That's why proper grading and drainage are just as important as waterproofing.

💬 Had you ever heard that poor grading can contribute to foundation movement?

Most people think ants are just a pest problem. Did you know ants can be a sign of hidden water damage?

But during a home inspection, they can also be an indicator that moisture has been affecting wood around the home.

In this inspection, Dennis explains why grading, drainage, and landscaping all play a role in creating conditions that attract ants.

One of the first things we noticed during this inspection wasn't that waterproofing had been installed…

It was that it had been installed incorrectly.

Products designed to manage water around a foundation only work when they're installed according to their intended design.

Small installation details can make a significant difference over the life of a home.

This foundation waterproofing looks finished but it was installed backwards.

The dimples on this drainboard should face the foundation so water can move down toward the footing drains. Installed incorrectly, the material may trap moisture where you least want it.

A completed repair is not necessarily a correct repair. This is why moisture-focused inspections matter when buying a home.

What happens beneath the v***r barrier?

In this walkthrough, Dennis explains why the SCV Systemâ„¢ is designed to pull air from beneath the liner and why that underlying airflow is an important part of maintaining a healthier crawlspace environment.

Understanding how the entire crawlspace system works together is key to improving indoor air quality.

HVAC installation isn't just about getting air from one room to another.

It's also about making sure the system can be properly maintained in the future.

In this video, Dennis explains why inside-insulated distribution boxes can become difficult to clean and why proper sealing is an important part of a quality installation.
