Since 1915 In 1915 W. P. Baker hung a sign in his downtown Raleigh shop indicating that Baker Roofing (then Baker Rawls Tin Shop) was open for business.

That sign read “We shall do good work. At a profit if we can, at a loss if we must, but always good work." Today, that sign can be found hanging in lobby of our Raleigh headquarters to act as a daily reminder of the values that drive all of team Baker. Since that day in 1915, Baker Roofing has grown to become one of the Nation’s largest and most respected roofing contractors. Baker Roofing Company now has 27 locations in 7 states throughout the southeast and performs work all across the US as well as internationally.

Layer by layer, this is how it's done right. 🎥

This is the final step in a built-up roofing system, spreading aggregate ballast over layers of bitumen and felt to protect the membrane for decades. Tar and gravel isn't glamorous work, but it's why Built-up roofing (BUR) has a 100+ year track record on commercial roofs.

The clubhouse at Wild Wing Golf Club isn't a simple roof. Dramatic cantilevered overhangs, a stepped multi-level flat roof, and wood-panel details that deserve craftsmanship to match. Our crew brought all of it back to its best, so this clubhouse looks as sharp as the course around it.

Oklahoma State Capitol

Some roofs protect a building. This one protects a piece of history.

At the Oklahoma State Capitol, our team replaced the historic roof on the south wing with custom-fabricated 16oz copper roofing and cupolas, handcrafted and installed by our steep slope team.

A building that houses the Oklahoma Legislature across more than 450,000 square feet demands a different level of care: matching historic profiles, working at scale on an active government landmark, and delivering craftsmanship that will be part of this building for generations.

That's exactly the kind of project our team was built for.

Six months is roughly how long it takes for a small issue to become a line item nobody budgeted for. You don’t have to know what to look for up there, that’s our job.

“Probably fine” is doing a lot of work in that sentence. A clogged drain in September becomes ponding in October and a structural conversation by spring.

Diamond-pattern standing seam metal covers the steep slopes, while a clean low-slope membrane handles the top. No shortcuts, no patch lines, just quality work, built to hold up to scrutiny from every angle.

Our Richmond and Raleigh steep-slope teams teamed up on the single-ply, stainless steel, and zinc portions of this project. Highlights include a portico roof designed to match the pre-fabricated dome and steeple, along with 3,000 feet of stainless steel through-wall flashing.
