Baker Roofing Company Since 1915 In 1915 W. P. Baker hung a sign in his downtown Raleigh shop indicating that Baker Roofing (then Baker Rawls Tin Shop) was open for business.

That sign read “We shall do good work. At a profit if we can, at a loss if we must, but always good work." Today, that sign can be found hanging in lobby of our Raleigh headquarters to act as a daily reminder of the values that drive all of team Baker. We're right in the middle of hurricane season.

They're not subcontractors. They're not here to finish a job and move on. They're owners.

Baker Roofing became 100% employee-owned because we believe the people doing the work should have a stake in the outcome. When the company is yours, you don't cut corners. You don't hand off accountability. You show up differently because it means something different.

That's not a new idea for us. W.P. Baker built this company in 1915 on one principle: "We shall do good work at a profit if we can, at a loss if we must, but always good work." That sign still hangs in every one of our locations. It still means what it meant then.

That is not a tagline. It is the truth behind every roof we install, every crew that shows up before sunrise, every smiling face you see on a Baker Roofing job site. Since 2025, our employees are also our owners. There is no separation between the people doing the work and the people who benefit from doing it well.

You can see it in the details. The supervisor who checks the flashing twice. The foreman who knows your name and your address by heart. The crew that treats your roof the way they would treat their own, because in a very real sense, it is theirs too.

For over 110 years, Baker Roofing has stood by one promise: we shall do good work, at a profit if we can, at a loss if we must, but always good work. Employee ownership did not change that promise. It just gave more people a reason to keep it.

TPO (Thermoplastic Polyolefin) is one of the most widely used commercial roofing membranes, and for good reason. It's energy-efficient, highly reflective, and built to handle whatever the weather throws at it.

This is the rollout phase: laying the membrane flat and smooth before our crew heat-welds every seam for a watertight finish.
