As a privately owned building company, our team takes great pride in building custom homes of distinction, primarily in the towns/surrounding areas of Pittsboro, Raleigh, and Wake Forest in our lovely home state of North Carolina. I raised my family here and I continue to enjoy hands-on experience in the home building industry here. I consider the Triangle to be one of the finest places to live in
the country. I started my home building career in 1983 as an onsite general laborer; from there I moved to site construction manager and on to multi-site production management. In 1997, I co-founded a custom home building company with two partners. In just a few years, we developed our company into one of the largest and most successful custom home building companies in the Triangle. Although being co-owner of a building business was gratifying, my greatest goal was to own and operate my own company. My heart desired to be on the jobsite daily, managing construction and communicating directly with clients. In pursuit of my dream, I sold my shares of the company and formed Prewitt Custom Homes in 2007. My commitment to my clients from the beginning was to utilize my years of building experience to provide exceptional quality, value and service. I believed then and still believe today that building strong client relationships provide a firm foundation for building fine homes. As a result, Prewitt Custom Homes has built a reputation for excellence in craftsmanship and meticulous attention to detail. Where building a home is intimidating and stressful for some, I strive to make the experience enjoyable and exciting. My clients become a part of the family when they decide to build with my company. Prewitt Custom Homes really is a dream come true for me. I’ve had the pleasure of delivering hundreds of homes, priced from $400,000 to $2 million, to “family” throughout the area. In addition to building homes in established neighborhoods, the majority of the homes built by my company are custom pre-sale homes on scattered lots, especially “Inside the Beltline” in Raleigh. I thoroughly enjoy the home building process in both scenarios. On a personal note, I’ve savored an abundance of volunteer hours with my children and other youngsters in Capital City Young Marines and Triangle Y Guides programs. I’ve shared my love of the North Carolina coast and salt water fishing with family and friends as often as time has allowed. I serve as a Past President of the Raleigh – Wake Home Builders Association, the largest Home Builders Association in the country.
