From a bland backyard to an outdoor space built to enjoy!

This homeowner originally reached out wanting a pathway down to a future fire pit area and their barn, but with a little creativity, the project turned into a full backyard refresh.

We tied the entire space together with three new mulch beds, including a raised bed for a future flower garden, two pallets of Tahoma 31 sod, and a new paver pathway finished with white landscape rock. The combination completely transformed the yard and gave the homeowner an outdoor space they can be proud of.

Sometimes a few well-planned upgrades are all it takes to completely change the look and feel of your backyard.

Ready to give your outdoor space a fresh start? We’d be happy to help bring your ideas to life.

Out with the old and in with the new!

This homeowner’s existing wooden retaining wall had deteriorated over time and was ready for a complete rebuild. We removed the old wall and rebuilt it with new pressure-treated lumber, following the slope of the property for a clean, sturdy finish.

The new wall not only cleans up the look of the property, but gives this landscaping a solid new border built to last.

Have an old retaining wall that’s leaning, rotting, or ready to be replaced? We’d be happy to take a look.

This front yard was ready for a fresh start.

Years of erosion and uneven areas had left this homeowner with bare spots and a yard that needed some serious attention. We brought in fresh topsoil, regraded the problem areas, and finished it off with new sod for a clean, even surface.

This homeowner reached out needing a quick solution to an erosion problem that was causing runoff toward the neighbor’s driveway.

We brought in clean topsoil to correct the grade and finished the area with three pallets of fresh sod to help stabilize the soil and prevent future washout.

One step closer to a finished backyard!

This homeowner is in the middle of building out their new back porch and called Duke of Dirt to take care of the pavers. We installed 140 sq. ft. of pavers around the new porch, creating a clean border and adding even more usable space to the area.

The porch may still be a work in progress, but the pavers are ready to go!

Years of rain and runoff had taken a toll on this backyard, creating deep washouts and trenches that left the yard uneven and difficult to use.

We brought in clean fill dirt to fill the major washouts, regraded the area, and smoothed everything out to give the homeowner a more even, usable backyard. Now the area is ready for seed and a fresh start.

If water runoff is washing away your yard, it’s better to address it before the erosion gets worse.

One step closer to a finished backyard 👏

After having a brand-new pool installed, this homeowner was ready to get the surrounding yard prepped for the finishing touch: sod.

The pool installation left roughly a 4–5 inch elevation difference between the new concrete and the existing grade. We brought in high-quality screened topsoil, backfilled around the pool area, and graded everything out to create a smooth transition and a solid base for sod.

Now the yard is ready for grass and this backyard is one step closer to becoming the outdoor space the homeowner envisioned!

Need backfill or grading work after a pool, patio, or other outdoor project? Duke of Dirt can help.
