We love a hometown hero. 💚
Angie's List (now Angi) was the first consumer ratings company to help shoppers find the best local service providers through ratings and reviews. The company was based in Indianapolis for more than 20 years.
In 2014, Angie's List wanted to update their new office space. The original building was a tile manufacturing plant built in 1908 that sat unused for several decades. When Angie's List bought the building, their intent was to keep the unique features of the building intact, which in turn had its challenges, especially when it came to ADA requirements.
Mitsch Design consulted with a code analyst to file a chapter 34, which allowed us to bypass certain ADA requirements because of the historical significance of the building.
Our team provided services for interior design, architecture, furniture artwork and accessories, plus signage management for the 4,000 sq. ft. space.
Fun Facts:
🎨 We used local artist Blice Edwards to hand paint custom murals, signage, wayfinding, restroom signage, etc. we wanted to give it an authentic feel with a nod to the local art community.
🫧 The Angie's List restrooms were one of the first to utilize the Dyson all-in-one faucet, soap, and hand dryer. At $7k a pop, they were a lot more expensive back in 2014!
